A buddy had one and said it opens in about 1 second but also allows for a keypad code and override key.

I have a GunVault model like Monky described and do not like it. It's too easy for me to push the wrong button during normal waking hours... I can't imagine having to try to get it open after getting woken up from a dead sleep.
This ones all sweet and hi tech. Wonder if you can conceal it behind a picture or something?

You may want to read this article before you choose one of these safes.

I use this one too, works like a million bucks. Check them out, they have a built-in taddle tale to let you know if somone put in the wrong code, lots of neat features, plus a backup key if the battery dies.

I have the smaller version of this. It has a cord to plug into the wall and 8 AA's inside if you dont have a power outlet. From the factory it beeps when ever you punch a digit but you can disable that pretty easy. I got mine for $88 with free shipping on amazon.

For more/better information. Do a gew-gal search for "Deviant Ollam" - armed in seconds.
What is my joy if all hands, even the unclean, can reach into it? What is my wisdom, if even the fools can dictate to me? What is my freedom, if all creatures, even the botched and impotent, are my masters? What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?

Just watched his "Safe to Armed in Seconds" video and enjoyed it thoroughly. Very informative and sometimes a bit funny.
