    Default finally saved up enough to get a safe

    wanting to see if anyone can give advice on purchasing a safe. most are 30min fireproof, some are up to two hours. is it worth spending double? what brands do you have that you like? throw me some advice please!

    I've been eyeing a Liberty Fatboy Jr. Seems to be a decent compromise on size, features, and protection.

    Check the Trading Post. I dunno if it sold, but El Caballo Loco was selling a Fatboy Jr at a helluva deal...

    Ask yourself this: how long of a response time would it take a fire department to reach you?
    Typically in an urban setting it takes the FD less than 10 minutes to reach you.
    Realistically paying for anything more than 30 minutes of protection is false economy.
    Spend the additional money on a larger safe. If you feel the need for additional fire protection 5/8" sheetrock is cheap.
    Always buy more safe than you think you need.

    Unless the 10K of ammo you bought off the Internet starts popping off, then all the Fire Dept. is going to do is evacuate the street and watch the fireworks.....
