View Full Version : The Denver Post is on the WRONG Side of the Wife

Wife comes in from work this morning, sits down to read Pravda (aka: The Denver Post) before going to bed, and there's no "Living" section. Which means there's no sudoku puzzle to solve. Which means she's at DefCon 1 and on total war footing.

Want that Chechen terrorist problem solved? Air-drop her into Boston with a knife and a photo of the suspect.

FFS...the DP really makes my life miserable.

Dude...I've tried. I've bought her sudoku puzzle books, downloaded it for her Kindle, etc... She likes the routine of having the paper.

Actually, I think she likes the routine of bitching about the paper. She opens it up and the bitching starts about what a useless rag it is. I just get caught in the middle.

Don't get caught in the middle. Agree with her, and help her find more reasons to bitch about the DP. There's something very satisfying about a husband-wife team in full agreement-and-bitch mode. :)

The editorial page with all the a-holes crying about how the NRA has a stranglehold on Congress. And how it's so shameful we can't have common sense gun control in this country. Freakin' DP makes me sick. But I do like to bitch about it.

I am glad I canceled my subscription, why support a business that works against its customers.

I don't support them. She does. The only time I touch the DP is when I wad it up to start a fire. I don't tell her how to spend her money (though I've suggested numerous times she'd be better off canceling the Post), she doesn't tell me how to spend mine.

She justifies it by the coupons and such that she gets. But even that's a less valid argument than it once was since you can load your club card with the weekly coupons now. She likes the ritual of reading the paper. I get that.
