View Full Version : does anybody have experience with vending machine routes?
I've got one or two locations. I'm considering starting my own routes. They're both very easy to get to for me.

I have a friend who does one along the car dealership alley on Havana ave in Aurora and district 5 school system. He said, the school one makes tons of $, but you do have to split profit w/ the district. He started out with leased units only, then bought a few fancy ones, only to lose tons of money on those. Now, he is back to leasing. BTW, he makes more profit on sticker vending machine than soda ones.
That's as much as I know about vending routes.

What kind? Gumball-nuts, candy bars, snacks-chips, food, drinks?
It is a cut-throat business.

Operated 5 pop and 10-15 candy for several years. Invariably you wind up with sites that are not close, work to get new customers, work to keep them and then they still fall for the next guy trying to do this business a little bit cheaper. Really tough to compete with Pepsi and Coke if you sell pop.
As with any business it will take more than you first think to make it work and even more to make it worth your while. But all things are possible. Finally decided it was not for us. Son tried it for a while, decided it was more trouble than it was worth to him.
