BREAKING NEWS: Senators Dianne Feinstein D-CA, Diana Degette D-CO and Pat Toomey R-PA announced that they will present a bill tomorrow banning Assault Kitchenware.
While the contents of the bill are still unclear we do know the following:
All metallic and semi metallic Pots that can accept a detachable lid and have at least one culinary feature: ergonomic grip; non stick liner;stainless construction, portable, or detachable plugs; grenade launcher or rocket launcher; detachable colander or temperature sensor.
-All metallic and semi metallic Pans that can accept a detachable lid and have at least one culinary feature: ergonomic grip; non stick liner;stainless construction, portable, or detachable plugs; grenade launcher or rocket launcher; detachable colander or temperature sensor.
-All metallic and semi metallic pots and tubs that have the capacity to accept more than 10 fluid oz.
-Metallic and semi metallic pots and pans manufactured prior to the date the ban is passed will be grand fathered however they must be registered into a federal database; all registrants will be subject to a background check and an annual registration fee of $350.00
The majority of the content in the 3,750 page bill is still unknown at this time but we have been assured DC law makers will be given 8 hours to thoroughly read through the bill and make an informed decision prior to casting their votes.
While making the announcement Sen. Feinstein stated "While we understand that this ban may bean inconvenience to all of us who enjoy the culinary arts we must understand that the inconvenience will greatly increase public safety and If we can save just one life the inconvenience is worth it."
The President issued the following statement in response to the proposed bill: "My Fellow Americans, in addition to the responsible and common sense bill being introduced by Senators Feinstein, Degette and Toomey I vow to keep America safer. I am proud to announce that with the assistance of the Vice President we will make it easier to keep kitchenware out of the hands of criminals by strengthening the kitchenware background check system. We will make sure culinary professionals know their options for reporting threats of violence --even as we acknowledge that someone with a culinary degree is far more likely to be a victim of violent crime than the perpetrator. The time to act is now"
