Serving Our Deployed Troops; Until They All Come Home.

Hearts Across The Miles' goal is to make sure no Service Member goes to mail call only to feel forgotten. Please help us support our troops,so they never feel lonely and disheartened. We owe our freedom to them. They are our Nation's heroes!

They need volunteers to unpack donations, sort and repackage the donations for shipment to deployed US military personnel. I just spent the morning there today and had a really good time doing a good thing for the soldiers. Go to the site, sign up, show up. There's a lot you can do for the MWR of the troops!

Thanks guys!

I agree.

And everyone that DOESN'T show up needs to turn in their man-card and all their 'we support the troops' stuff, bumper stickers, shirts, hats, pins, etc. Its only two hours or so once a month and super easy to work.

Done!

I would also recommend if you know somebody over there ask them what they need and send it direct.

My donations and money have been going to Soldier's Angels and Fisher House. If I lived in Metro Denver I'd be happy to spend a couple of hours.
Thanks for the post

Hearts Across The Miles is looking for several volunteers to help inventory and sort items to ship to deployed service members for the holidays. We need as much help as possible. We will be receiving a large donation from a church.

Date: Monday, 10 November

Time: 9:30 am

Place: Aurora, CO

If you can help or know anyone who would like to support this effort, please call or email Theresa at 720-939-3240 or hatm@comcast.net. We really appreciate your support and wouldn't be able to make our packaging date of 22 November without your help!!! Our deployed Buckley troops and other units really appreciate your support and being remembered especially during the holidays!!!

PS: It is NOT too late to add your deployed troops to our mailing list to receive care packages, but please send us their names soon with their estimated date of return!!! Our volunteers must make their custom forms and get them added to our shipping program. Thank you!!!

Bigger operation than I had guessed. They send you a nice email-

Thank you to EVERYONE who participated in helping Hearts Across The Miles to support our deployed troops from ALL of the generous donations, to helping inventory and sort these items, to our fabulous packaging day today!!! We couldn't make ANY of this happen without ALL of your continued support of our mission.

All of these efforts combined from many different groups throughout the Denver Metro Community resulted in 170 care packages being shipped to our deployed service members weighing nearly 6,000 lbs and costing just over $5,000 to ship!!!

Goes on a bit, anyhow easy work and it feels good to help out the joes. 8:30- about noon. I'll post the next announcement I get if any of yall are interested in going.

Just saw this too.. Good to see people doing something to help these men and women in the armed forces.

I helped guide a "Wounded Warrior" pheasant hunt last weekend. 5 volunteers including myself took 8 soldiers from Ft carson out in the field. It was a life changing event for me. I have communicated with one of the soldiers that helped get this event going for the Wounded Warriers group, and the moral boost to these kids is having a profound affect on their recovery. Cant wait to organize a few hunts or fishing trips for the soldiers myself.

Not for the faint of heart. We don't care what you ride, or if you ride at all. You don't have to be a veteran or have ever served in the military. The only prerequesite is RESPECT.

I would say kiss my ass, but considering I'm talking to the third largest noob troll in all of new jersey, I will say slurp my butt.

You know, if you don't quote the trolls, I can make them disappear like it never happened.[Tooth]

soooo... I'm guessing that Marlin removed a post by a spammer and we're just left seeing the response.

Am I even close to the mark here?

Thread bump for the great effort of the OP!

My business partner is a Sgt in the Army and 11-Bravo to boot. We do everything we can for him by sending him care packages monthly as it is but I'd love to be able to help out more folks. Sent an Email to the OP and going through my games/books/movies to get a list of what we can donate.

Well that explains it. Thank you. Are they going to be doing something similar this year? I looked at their calendar but couldn't find any info.
