View Full Version : SO who here ordered their 5.11 Tactical Duty Kilt?
I see 5.11 went ahead with their Tactical Duty Kilt. (http://www.511tactical.com/All-Products/Shorts/Tactical-Shorts/Tactical-Duty-Kilt.html) It is a pre-order; however, the pre order ends the 30th of this month. Thinking about it, but it is $69 and wont be shipping until September.
So who is getting one?

That would probably look good on your wife.
You on the other hand....

What's the benefit of a kilt over combat fatigues?
What's the benefit of a kilt over combat fatigues?
Depends on how much Scottish you have in you. I think there would be no advantage other than not having to undo your pants when you relieve yourself, that is if you are a true Scottsman. [Coffee]
................I think it is more of a "novelty" than anything, just to say; "I have a tactical duty kilt."

You can wear flashy knee pads as an accessory. [Flower]
What's the benefit of a kilt over combat fatigues?
Its breezier.

I did, but canceled it when I found out it wasn't a dress.

Chick magnet. Of course, the trade off is you'll probably get in a fight every time you go to the pub.

That's not a bad price for a kilt. Beats $300+ for a Utilikilt.
They are nice for hiking. I have an old Mountain Hardware Elkcommando that is pretty light weight.
Can those pockets hold a six pack? [Beer]

Couple of problems ... 1: You'd have to life your kilt to draw your weapon if you were wearing a dropleg, thus making you look like a creepy TS/TV version of Laura Croft. 2: Firing prone might lead to unwanted displays of Mr. Wankus to the safety officers.

I need to add these to my Black Watch, Gilmour Clan and Stuart Clan kilts.
Don't know ho well these would look with sporran, flashes or ghillie brogues, but a sgian dubh and/or dirk should go well.
Any source for camo Scottish hose?
Any source for camo Scottish hose?
I think camo hose would be a massive fashion faux pas. The matchy-matchy look went out many years ago, and although the reason to wear camo hose with your kilt would be to ultimately give the illusion of longer legs, the effect would be ruined by the pattern of camoflage.

easier to lift up vs pulling down.
Kilts also increase sperm count so your pillaging and plunder trips are more likely to spread your seed

Go to the "Tilted Kilt" downtown and see if they have Asian chicks working there. You might change your mind about this statement.

I'd get one but then I'd have to get a matching pair of pumps, a nice blouse... Probably hard to find high-heels in digital camo.

While traditionally Scottish, it was my understanding that the Irish Celt's were known to sport kilts as well.

So I wonder if you could rock a drop leg holster for CCW with a kilt. Rock a full size pistol

You are correct. I think it is just stereo typed with a Scotsman more though.

Why do Scots wear kilts?
Because sheep can hear zippers.
My family isn't from one of the main clans, so finding kilts tartans is next to impossible. From what I have found, they also had terrible taste in plaids. [Shy]

[ROFL1] Okay that first part was funny as hell........................
Reminds me of this joke. Whats the difference between a Scotsman and the Rolling stones?
Rolling Stones sings; "Hey you, get off my cloud.........."
Scotsman says; "HEY McCloud! Get off my EWE!"
So are those your pumps?
Was last year's 4/1 April Fools joke. It is real now. :D

Shit. Should have read further ahead. You can accessorize this with knee high rubber boots and velcro gloves, though.

Yep, I guess, there was enough interest with people saying Hell yEAH! That they will custom make them. Kind of sucky though, their pre-order ends in 9 days and you wont see them until Sept 13.

1. Pretty girls are pretty girls no matter what they are (or aren't) wearing.
2. I avoid Denver like the plague so as interesting as the Tilted Kilt sounds (had to do a websearch on it), I'm afraid I won't be going there unless something else takes me to Commierado Hell Denver.
3. I still say Asian guys look stupid as hell in kilts.

I had a Scottish connection when I got mine made for my wedding (made in Glasgow). However, I already knew the tartan I wanted.
If you're serious, contact a kilt shop in either place (Scottland or Ireland) and ask. They're pretty good about figuring that stuff out (assuming they aren't just trying to sell you a kilt).
I went with the clan tartan, instead of the family tartan.
Either way, it's way too freaking expensive to wear to the range! :)
Wow. A fashionable, sensible way to show off my finely sculpted legs?
I'll take five.
