"Click"- Should I retry the load?

Well, I did with a .40, and second time was a charm. What is the Standard Op Procedure? I keep thinking it could be a slow-burner and explode when you take it out.

If I get a "click" but no "boom" in a practice situation I usually keep it pointed in a safe direction for about five or ten seconds then clear it. I think there is some kind of "30 second rule for misfires" but I've never seen one just go off all by itself five or ten seconds after pulling the trigger so I play by my own rules.

If it's a factory load, you may have a gun problem, it could just be a bad round too. Check the round for more info. If it's a reload, it's almost always a high primer problem if you light it off with a second strike.
