I haven't been to a show in a few years and have a few buds that want to go Saturday at about noon. Will it even be worth it to get there that late? Maybe not worth it at all at any time? I just don't want to drive down there from up here, then stand in line for hours to get in.
I'm really not looking for anything in particular, so it would really just be an eye candy trip anyway.
I went to the last show around 10 on Saturday. Didn't have to wait in line to get in but had to park in the boondocks! Very crowded inside. Some aisles were like a traffic jam....

I'm in the market for a HD shotty, AK parts kit, 7mm & 22LR ammo, a thigh holster for my .40, and reloading gear. Think it's worth while?

HD shotty - yes
AK parts kit - havn't seen one for sale the last 2 times I went, but doesn't mean they are not available.
7mm ammo & reloading components - yes
22lr ammo - unless you are willing to pay through the nose
thigh holster - yes
reloading components - yes, but if you are looking for primers and certain powders you will pay a premium

If someone is going, I need 8lbs RamShot Tac or BL-C(2) for a specific project.
It doesn't involve a pressure cookr, does it? [shithitsfan]
If you think that's supposed to be funny, you are an abysmal failure at life.
good reply.
back on topic: I'll be at the Tanner show at opening with my neighbor. He needs a lot of stuff for a build he's working on, and I am looking for a couple different red dots, fde mags, 9mm ammo, etc. Even if i walk out empty handed, the people watching, price gougers, and silver guy (I hope it drops back down tomorrow, today was too soon.) should make it worth my while anyway.

Got what I needed locally.
Ouch.
I need those same powders, where'd you find them?

I believe my roommate and I are going to reverse picket Tanner tomorrow. Our messages will be pro gun and anti-liberal policies. We will probably stand across from the lady that pickets for assault weapons ban. This is where the cars enter to find parking near Taco Juans. Of course we will show no disrespect. I don't want to be a Evie Hudak!
This is not my style. I don't like blasting my opinions on others. Libs sure seem to though. I think we need some more exposure. Plus, it will get people in the mood for the show!
Something like:
- Honk if you refuse to be a victim.
- You're safer home invading my neighbor, he doesn't own a gun.
I got a bunch more.
I created a thread in legislation & politics: http://www.ar-15.co/threads/101023-I-m-Reverse-Picketing-Tanner-Gun-Show-Tomorrow!
I'm debating on going. I've got a couple items I'd like to unload, but I'm still recovering from the food poisoning earlier this week. Can barely walk in a relatively straight line.
I've never taken anything with me to sell at a show before, but I have a pile of AR and AK mags and I need cash. I've seen guys carrying around handwirtten signs before - usually about a rifle for sale or something. Is it frowned on to wander around and sell/trade mags out of a backpack for any reason?

I'll be there with my "free Colorado" shirt on.

No. It is not frowned upon, Brian. I see people doing it every show.

I hate it when people try to hang out in front of my table and sell stuff . It distracts people from viewing my table and while they may have paid the entrance fee I pay a whole lot more for a table . Sure sell you stuff just dont post up , keep it moving

The trading post forums are a nice place to list items too

Guess I've avoided it due to my low post count, didn't want to be seen as a trading post troll. :) I suppose I could fix that by chatting more often, eh?
Thanks Al, good point - will make sure not to be too annoying. I'm probably going to end up getting my own table in a month or two anyway, so I can see your point well.

Show is a zoo, prices are ridiculous with a few exceptions. Ammo Kan has Pmags, Gen M2 window for $14.99. Primers are $75 to 80 a brick, one place had a few for $50. Almost no powder or bullets. 5.56 ammo is nearly or above $1 per round. I actually walked out without spending any money. Then I went back and bought two Pmags.
$80 a brick? WTF?????
No powder, as i said in other topic, something happens with Powder makers this days

Sounds like a good place to avoid. Prices are still nuts here.

In general, firearm prices and availability are getting better (but good luck finding a 9mm M&P these days, OR the magazines!). Ammo is still insane - especially 22lr. I can't believe some are really paying $120 for 550 round bulk packs. However, interesting to see several Tavor's and KSGs there - including one in FDE!
I have yet to see a parts kit of any kind the couple times I have gone in the last 2 years..
Here is what's currently available online for AK kits:

Obviously there are plenty for sale on the AKForums and the AKFiles from private sellers.
Agree with Singlestack, firearm prices and availability are definitely getting better. Ammo prices are still crazy, now I know where all the walmart bulkpacks went. I did see DPMS LPKs going for $68 also a complete 22lr Chiappa Upper w/ 2 mags for $370 NIB.
After this visit to Tanner, I have to say that they (gun shows) do not have any relevance for me. $1 and up for one round of ammunition, still 2K ARs and $1500 AKs. Hell I was interested in buying a shotgun and found a couple of $600 Mossberg 500s. [facepalm] I will donate my entrance fees to the next doper with a sign on the corner they cant be anymore F'd than this.

I went today/Sunday and was mildly entertained: saw two TAVORs for $3000 and $3500, pretty women and a few friends. Beyond that, as most have mentioned, the ammo is still stupid high, most firearms were priced too high and mags...nuts. There could have been a couple bring homes but they will have to wait.
What they said ^. Ammo prices were horrid. The chaos and lines to get it were just as repulsive.
All I bought were receiver vise blocks, FDE pmags w/ dust covers (nib $20 each, can't complain too much about that... just a little), some FDE rail covers, and an FDE sling. Prices for what I left with were ok, but I went anticipating buying some 9mm, but saw the prices and walked away.
Wes56 scored a nib FDE ACS, buffer, tube, spring, castle nut, ambi base plate, and retaining spring/pin for a good package price. I've skipped the last 3 or 4 shows, and will likely be doing the same for the next 3 or 4... regardless, people watching was fun.

I was surprised by how many AR's I saw that were at almost reasonable prices. Most AR's were at "OMG" prices but that was an improvement over the previous "OMFG" prices....
The people watching was great, and also talking to the jeep guys before the show. 3.3 Hemi in a jeep!! Awesome!'
Like Sawin said picked up some parts for my middy in FDE. Waiting for my LPK to arrive soon. But saw I great price on a AR. $5,500. What a deal!! [Bang]
$5500?! What was it made out of? Titanium? I didn't go this time because of a docs appt. I've been wanting to pick up a Magpul UBR stock for my DPMS TAC2 but Im scared of gunshow prices on an already pricey item
The oddest thing I saw was 80% lowers for $170.00 to $210.00. Really? I have had enough Tanner for a while.

I think that gunshows are a complete waste of time these days. Better deals can be had on most things at your local gun shop. Without bumping elbows with all of the trash at the show.
