So I'm debating using the AccuWedge I scored for $3.00. I've heard many people say it's unnecessary, and that a little "wobble" between the upper and lower is not a problem.

Anyone care to weigh in? [Walk]

Mine don't wobble. But anyway, the parts of the upper are what determine accuracy. If there's a little wiggle between the upper and the lower, it won't change the accuracy of the upper one bit.

It's kind of like having a tight slide on a pistol. The consistent lockup of the barrel and the slide are what really determine accuracy.

They all wobble but I don't worry about it your optics or sites are mounted to the upper. It makes no difference if the lower moves from the upper it will have no effect on accuracy.

Very minimal, and hard to explain. One of those, "you'd have to see it to know what I'm talking about" kinda things.

No issue with wobble. Just shoot it and enjoy. Since you have the wedge thingy, go ahead and install it.That won't hurt either.

It'll slowly, over time, lead to egging out your takedown pin holes in the upper and lower. In the interim, the lower and upper will *feel* tighter.

If a tighter feel is important to you, go f'rit. Accuracy-wise, it doesn't matter either way.

If for some reason you are trying to shoot benchrest with an AR, tightening the upper to lower fit will help with accuracy.

Practical terms, it dont matter one bit inside 500-600 yards.

Sounds like you are concerned with it. just buy the 3.00 accuwedge and forget about them ever moving

duct tape. Fixes everything. In fact my forward handguard is made of nothing but dozens of wraps of duct tape.
