Hey Guys, I understand that there are a lot of smarter guys than me who roam this board, and I was wondering if there was a way of getting together a ballot measure put together, to combat the recent house measures signed into law by our governor? On a midterm election cycle where voter turn out generally sucks, it seems like "we" could motivate the gun owners into voting into protecting themselves. Any thoughts or comments would be greatly appreciated. They might actually might keep me from losing my mind or moving to freaking Texas (so hot, so steamy)

Well, the Sheriff's Union has more than half of the sheriff's in CO filing a class action law suit. In addition, there are several civil rights lawyers filing suits, too. Word has it there a measure from someone in Arvada trying this, but from what I can tell it is hearsay.

Our best bet is to support the class action law suit and hope that overturns the poorly written legislation... Well just the magazine ban, the other one is pretty much here to stay and we're gonna have to deal with it.

It's been brought up here before, but apparently the management of this establishment doesn't want it discussed by people without law degrees and bar membership.

We shouldn't deal with it. That sends a poor message. We should grit and bear as we challenge and do something about it, however. But...that may be what you were getting at.

Rosen had a couple of guys on that were organizing for the ballot in '14.

I meant as a separate issue, although 2014 comes around, we kick the dems to the curb, get some rock star repubs in there that are actually educated on the constitution and what not, still doubtful they'll repeal it. I can't think of any previous cases where a majority D legislative body passed something then were overtaken by R in the following election and the bill was repealed.

i think replacing with some Connie's would be even better. We really need to move away from the clowns that run the show now.

That does not mean it can't/won't happen. Not to sound Polyannish but it will be self-full-filling if we don't make that the goal. Personally I think that if we went to a CCW required system with protections from it being abused we could overturn the BGC law. The start of this was already proposed earlier this year (and defeated) by repubicans, had pretty wide support and could be an acceptable alternative to what we have now.
