Gone through 2 services like this first was my father at age 4, I still remember that trumpet and 21 gun salute. Next was my grandfather when I has 8. Father was a Marine, served in Vietnam with three tours, 2 purple hearts and a silver star, my grandfather was also a Marine an fought in WWII.
I wanted to follow in their shoes but my asthema kept me from it, I still get emotional every time I hear that song...

I'm really sorry for your loss!! I can't recount the time that I heard taps throughout my service/deployments and always get choked up.

I served on an Honor Guard for our GySgt when he was killed in an accident. It was humbling and an honor to say the least.
