I swung by the Stop the NRA March this afternoon to watch the protest and march against gun violence. I was late, but caught two of the speeches before the crowd started marching.
Participating organizations include Public Campaign, Occupy the NRA, CREDO, Every Child Matters, Moveon, United For Change, USA, New Yorkers Against Gun Violence, The Other 98%, and We Act Radio.
As Buzzfeed’s Evan McMorris-Santoro noted earlier this morning, the event featured the debut of a new anti-NRA poster (http://www.buzzfeed.com/evanmcsan/shepard-fairey-to-publicly-unveil-new-anti-nra-work-in-dc-th) created by Shepard Fairey – the designer of the famous Obama ‘Hope’ poster. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barack_Obama_%22Hope%22_poster)
A generous estimation of the crowd size would have been about 100 people, including members of the media.
Here are some of the photos:

So I was there today before lunch (Potbelly -- nummy) and we didn't even know what it was. When I saw the anti-NRA signs I went over and started talking to the people -- many of which didn't even know what was going on, but who came to hear what was being said on the bull-horn. Pathetic...

UNTIL.. The 'march' started, they probably had 25 motorcycle cops, 20 or so cops standing around.. There were more cops than protestors. All the sirens got more attention than the whack-jobs.

The poster referenced in the article looks like a piece of NAZI or Soviet propaganda.

I would estimate the "Other 98%" were a bit off on their count.

I actually heard an interview on NPR, can't recall the name, who said it was 92%. I love how every month or two it seems to grow larger. Then you see this and have to laugh at them. It's just like the 40% figure they have been spouting for years.

Multiply these 100 or less by 10. That's how many of them have "Likes" on FB, Twitter, and every other social media. The Internet was a major contributor for O being re-elected. AS well as every other useless feel good piece of legislation and or it's beginnings.
We [ Gun owners] sit by and scoff at their protest, rant's and complaints. What we underestimate is how many Liberals have nothing better to do than stir the pot . They have plenty of free time, as they are professional voters they are also good at assembling the masses.

There's that old story of The Tortoise and the Hare. Lets not forget how "comfortable" the rabbit was, till the very end.

How many of them have ever even held a gun. "I don't own a gun so I think they should go" and still so few of them.

Didn't realize that It was DC. Thought it was some local BS.

As for DC's gun laws ...I'd like to know the mental gymnastics necessary to square that with the constitution.

I would think that if payment was being offered there would have been more "protesters" in attendance. These were the true believers.

Keep sending emails and making phone calls to your reps 'cause they are going to keep trying to infringe on the constitution. The propaganda machine is still pumping out the lies every where and at every chance.
