Thats actually pretty awesome, as it made teachers who were comfortable with the idea of an outside saving force, ie the police, coming to the rescue come sharply into focus as an unfulfilled wet dream. NOW they are in favor of armed teachers, or armed citizens, and realize that in the actual situation, thier rose colored glasses version of reality is a cruel hoax that will leave them dead and the children they are in charge of just as dead right alongside them.
We need that to happen here.

i understand that this is the sad reality of the world we live in. I am not sure that i would want my 6 year old to pretend she is being shot at.

They have been doing active shooter training in schools since 1999 to 2000 that I know of. After Columbine we would regularly have a drill in one of our schools in Thornton.

WORST IDEA EVER! As has been stated previously... one CCW carrying teacher and what was supposed to be a good idea turns into lives being changed forever.

On one of these days, April 24th through April 26th, there will be an active shooter scenario being played out to provide teacher training and to ensure our school is prepared. The shooters will be wearing a pink tootu so do not engage them with actual weapons or harm them. If there is an incident and there is 2 active shooters and NOT in a pink tootu, engage and have no mercy as they are the real deal.

There are lives at stake here, you can't make that assumption. As a teacher I may carry against my school's policy and accept the administrative consequences to save my life or the lives of students. I blast those "actors" and now what? Ooops

There are teachers all over the states who CCW regardless of the law and keep it to themselves. This no notification scenario was monumentally a fuck up on the administration of the school or Police....whoever came up with the idea and acted it out.

without it being previously brought up, and trained for, they are just trying to make a point.

reminds me losely of the situation where the guy pulled a gun on the pregnant lady for smoking.... thats a very freaking dangerous way to prove a point..... you never know who you are in the room with.....
