View Full Version : Streamlight TLR 1 HL
I am curious if anyone has run the Streamlight TLR 1 HL as a handgun mounted light. It is obviously meant as to answer to the Surefire 300 ultra. Not looking for a Surefire vs. Streamlight debate, just looking for a quick review. Does it hold up, any fleas, etc?

I run 1 on my 1911 and a TLR-1S on my Glock from time to time. LOVE it, Ive had the HL for a while and can't find any issues with it so far, and I'm rough on it.

Picked up one for the BIL for his first Glock. I normally run a 1S on my Glock. No problems with it and its stupid bright. Like not safe for your eyes OMGWTFBBQ bright. I know his has lasted him for a while now with no issues.

I have both. Prefer the design/size of the Surfire but like the operation of the Streamlight better. I find the momentary on operation for the Surfire to be difficult. Streamtlight momentary on is much easier to use and seems more natural to me. As far as light output there are slight differences in the pattern and spillover but can't go wrong with either one. Both will blind you :-)
Thanks for the responses. Just as an update, I picked one up shortly after my original post and have been running it since. No problems or issues yet. Like others have mentioned it is silly bright. I went night shooting again last night and continue to be pleasantly surprised with its performance. For my stingy ass streamlight gets my money.
