I feel bad for the cops. We had a LEO in the other day during one of our PPITH classes, he stated that 80% of all cop related shootings are from ambushes...

First video it sounded like the bad guy was shouting something like "kill me, kill me" after he'd been shot once and then knelt down.... Sh!t is messed up...

If they're doped up or what ever the drug of choice is. Their brain doesn't register they're severely injured / dead. You could run someone doped up, over with an 18wheeler and they pop up 2-3 times before the brain says OK we're done.

Cops don't deserve that. They put up with more crap on a given day than ten of the rest of us put together. The amazing thing is he asks if the guy is "OK"!

Also, the entertainment industry teaches people go down when shot. It's sooooo not the case. Seen it in training videos and even in the ER. Doesn't have to be because the person was on drugs, either.

Cops were shooting handguns. Handguns are easy to carry but not effective at putting people down unless you hit them many times or get a lucky hit on a vital organ. Getting accurate rounds off while being shot at and hit is very difficult and not something anyone practices.

I'm glad the officers are alive. There are plenty of cases where someone who is effectively dead, gets off a few more rounds.

I'd rather be lucky than good.

Any handgun round is generally going to require a few good hits, even in vital areas. Just be confident in what you carry and practice putting rounds on target quickly.

it didnt even slow him down too much....looks like he was shot once or twice in the stomach

Yeah, I have seen some pretty gnarly wounds which you'd think would kill someone and they don't. The body can compensate for quite a while.

More in depth article on the incident... apparently it happened back in March (just saw the vid on Hannity and thought that I've seen this video before).

He was telling the cops "Kill me!" I think suicide by cop could have been the motive. Sucks that Officer Thomas lost a finger, but glad both officers lived and this POS died.
