Took my wife and kids to dinner tonight and parked in front of bicycle village in Aurora. When we got out and go in the restaurant, some worthless person decided to spit on my window because I have an NRA decal on my truck. The only persons in front of my truck were cyclists. None of them could mention a word to me when I got out!!but when I leave they pull up their spandex and do this? What complete cowards! I really hope they get what's coming to them! I may not have caught them.... I hope the next guy does and gives them what they really deserve X100!
just un-believable. So I had to explain to my kids what kind of a person does that.
This proves that dumb@ss leftist are low life retards.

I'm going to venture a guess that the majority make everyone look bad (in this case) and that there are a few really good cyclists out there. The vast, sweeping, and large majority of cyclists I've encountered (I'd say 8 or 9 out of 10) are jackasses, pompous, inconsiderate, and disrespectful dicks. This could be skewed because I only encounter them in Evergreen, Denver, Boulder, and Golden and they're always on the roads (the ones with lines that are traveled by mostly cars), never on any trails or non-road surfaces.

I'm a Cyclist, Diesel truck owner, this sounds like problem caused by a combination of the sticker and truck . I drive by a popular unload spot for mountain bikers on the way home from work. When I'm in my truck I get the disapproving scowl look. When I'm in my Honda...waves and smiles. This is actually from the same group who happens to be there a lot about the time I drive home.
Flip side is when I'm commuting to work on my bike I've had some truck drivers go out of their way be absolute dicks to me....yeah douche I really needed a smoke setting demo. I've also ridden with guys that take pride in being complete assholes to motorists....usually only once.
Got a lot of positives from bikers on my pro 2a stickers on the Honda too. I guess thinking in stereotypes too much is a sign of poor critical thinking capabilities.

Nice guys? Technically I cannot cross the double yellow to legally and safely pass, and if it's congested and they're going 10mph in a 30mph zone with no shoulder, then what? I'd rather not run them off the road, and I'm afraid I'll get filmed on their iPhone if I give them a honk that I would like to pass. So yes, they are inconsiderate. I only stated that my experience has shown the majority to be this way and that the friendly, courteous, nice ones are a minority. Don't get your panties in a wad. And I'm not going to get into the rights to the road argument, we've been over this before and I'd rather not go down that road again.

I've had trucks do this to me (is there some switch they pull to release a huge plume of black smoke on command?) and it's just pathetic. It's the exact same lameass shit that bikers did to the OP in the first place.

My bike before that was '07 Suzuki gsx-r600, stolen. After the ZX I had an '08 cbr1000rr and I moved out of the apt that had a detached garage. Sold it, 2 days later it was stolen from the buyer and they found it a week later in pieces in mexico. Poor bastard had borrowed 2 grand from his friends to pay for it and naturally did not have the $$ to insure it yet.

Maybe cyclists need to get off the damn road and go find a nice bike path, or perhaps go on roads that have a bike lane and/or oversized shoulder. I've only been through Windsor, so I can't speak on how the roads are up there, but up here in the mountains, the roads are narrow as it is, and there is little to no paved shoulder easily accessible by bikes, so it's imperative that cyclists safely operate on the roads without causing auto accidents (I'm shocked it doesn't happen more often). So is your bicycle registered? Do you pay R&B tax every year to ride your bicycle? Do you follow ALL laws of the road when on your bicycle 100% of the time? If you answered no to any or all of these questions then you have as much right to ride your bicycle on the road as I have the right to throw eggs at cyclists on the road- which is absolutely none, as badly as I'd like to do it to those who ride like d-bags acting like they own the roads and we must bend to their will. Roads, in their current form (forget what roads began as, or what have you), right now, are maintained and exist for the purpose of automobile travel, not bicycle travel, unless there is a dedicated bicycle lane.
In the previous post, I simply stated that a vast majority of pedal pushers up here where I live, ride around like pompous, inconsiderate assholes who cannot share the road with cars. I run into it constantly, some Lance Armstrong wannabe in his spandex jumpsuit is riding on a heavily used road (by cars that is) with little or no shoulder, lots of curves- many of these are blind- and acts like he (or she) has the permanent right of way when the speed limit is clearly 30MPH or more and passing this biker would involve going into oncoming lanes. Most of the time, passing this 5-15mph bound bicyclist is unsafe and somewhat illegal (crossing solid lines). There has been ample discussion that if a bicyclist is holding up traffic, most LE believes they should pull off and allow cars to pass. Common courtesy would dictate that if you are slowing up a lot of people due to your inability to travel within reasonable bounds of the speed limit (usually not less than 5 under in good weather) you should pull over to allow them to safely pass. Have I seen one, single cyclists where I live do this? No. But again, I feel the need to reiterate that this is based on only my experience traveling the many roads of this great state. I have yet to buzz any cyclist with my mirror (although the temptation has been there for a long time), but do feel that "share the road" goes both ways. Remember, regardless of who is right or wrong, the car will always come out of that collision with the upper hand, it would be wise for all bicycle riding folks to keep this in mind and act accordingly.

Nothing surprises me from Cyclists any more. I have been riding motorcycles for decades and until I got here had not heard or known of a suicyclist. These guys would do crazy stuff like dart out into the road just as you come by, groups would fan out so you had to go into on coming traffic to get by or do 10MPH. The craziest, which I have seen myself are the chickens. No joke, going into your lane and playing chicken with a Motorcycle. Just stupid. Spit, that is just normal for them. All of this because Motorcyles are still burning the carbon. If you don't fit into their perception of the world you must be a Terrorist! (O wait wrong thread )

Vehicles are the greatest threat to my person when I'm not in one, so the second I get onto a bike or am jogging, I immediately put myself on guard and hate all motorists. That doesn't mean I'm trying to block traffic, be rude and confrontational, etc; but it means I'm on guard the whole time I'm near a road.
There is a reason I don't put stickers on my vehicles.

I have ridden in Evergreen and many other mtn roads, and yes I ALWAYS follow the LAW.
My vehicles are registered and I pay taxes so tough shit that I don't have to register my bike. The road damage caused by my bike on the road is zero, so the upkeep incurred is also zero.
Whatever you THINK the roads are there for is your opinion and the FACT remains that bikes are not only allowed, but are protected by LAW.

Yeah, auto v. bike = auto always wins, which is why I don't do stupid shit and really try to real in my on-road conflicts. I also mostly mtn bike to avoid the assholes. But I am not going to permanently cease and desist something I love doing because there are a few intolerant assholes and I might run into one someday.
