Never heard this rumor yet but it sounds like BS to me. Remington is smarter than that.

Only if Remington wants to lose millions of customers and billions of $

Who said this, Mary Hodge?

That'd be the biggest commercial seppuku ever. No way that's accurate.

It may be a misinterpretation. What may have happened is they said after that date they will be focusing on LEO and government contracts, so supplies with be severally diminished until they have met their contractual obligations with those sources. Or their backlog is so full they won't be taking new orders for the rest of the year.

Think it was mid-April we got a letter from Springfield saying they aren't taking orders for the rest of the year.

I have a hard time believing that Remington would screw over its civilian customers.

Not when this is the first thing you see on their web site:

Sounds like Gunstore Commando FUD (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fear,_uncertainty_and_doubt) to me.

They are probibaly going to fill .gov, and .mil contracts as priority but no way would they stop selling to consumers.

Why even start a thread on a silly rumor with nothing to show for it?

Get your supposed friend at Remington to come on the forum and tell us his/her inside story...

Just talked to my buddy. Remington rep. has not said anything about it. Money is in retail not gov. sales.

Unless BIG Sister makes promises to Remington that her chode friends at IRS will grant tax incentives for selling at a priority to DHS over the public.

Remington Core-lok's are probably the best selling hunting rifle ammunition on the market right now.

Does anyone here actually think Remington would even consider giving up that revenue to a competitor? Yeah, neither do I.

It's definitely true. So...I have a box of Core-Lokt .30-30 ammo. I'll let it go for $80. You won't be able to get it anymore because the .gov is buying it up. This goes on Armslist tomorrow!
