Anyone have any experience with Black Rain drop in trigger upgrade?
In the market for a 308 AR and came across a Black Rain Ordnance PG15-18. It had the UBR stock upgrade and their drop in trigger upgrade. I typically use Geissele's SSA-E trigger in my ARs.
I can't find much information on the BRO trigger upgrade beyond a video from SHOT show 2013 at the range. Look is similar to Timney, Chip McCormick and Wilson Combat, but not exactly the same. Picture below:

Looks closer to a POF. That is apparently their second generation as the originals had openings in the housing, but I have never tried one and don't know anyone who uses one.

Thanks Mark. In general, I've heard good things about BRO, but in most cases it is about the aesthetics of the rifle with some of their finishes. Build looks solid but having a tough time understanding what sets them apart and commands those premium prices.

I hear you. I have used just about every trigger on the market, and while I see you likes the Geissele's, it really is personal preference for how you shoot, what you are used to and what you use your AR for.
I have POF drop-ins and really like that company and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone for any application where you need a solid 4# trigger in a hard use environment. The CMCs are good as well, just not as tough. For the Heavy calibers, in a 2-Stage, and .22LR conversions, the Jard is what I recommend as the Geissele's can have issues.

Agree on the personal piece. I've used Geissele, Timney, Rock River two stage and JP Enterprise in one rifle or another. I just settled on Geissele because I liked it the best and it was easy to install, but wouldn't pass on a rifle just because it had one of the other brands installed.
Paying the premium price on a BRO with their upgraded trigger doesn't make sense given the unknown quality of the trigger. I haven't heard anything from Black Rain Ordnance either. I pursue a lower cost .308 AR option and upgrade it with the components I prefer.
