View Full Version : Job opening in Woodland Park, shop rat
Our current shop rat is leaving us to pursue his dreams in Alaska. Pretty cool if you ask me. However, his departure leaves us a man down. We're looking to hire a new shop rat, duties to include most every task imaginable in a modern cabinet shop. Experience is not necessary. In fact, in some ways experience as a hobbyist woodworker is almost detrimental. We do it one way here (the right way, or MY way) and I dislike having to convince some hobbyist that my way is better than what he picked up on some woodworking forum.
It's a perfect entry level job for some responsible kid who doesn't want to go to college. The work is both mentally and physically demanding, so dummies and sissies shouldn't apply.
Pay commensurate with experience.
The best way to contact me about this is via e-mail.

I should have stated that it's a full time job, 8:00ish to 5:00ish Monday through Friday. There is generally one day a month or so we don't work just due to scheduling, but it's generally a 40 hr/wk gig. We very occasionally work a Saturday or two if we get slammed, but we try very hard to avoid that.
I'm bumping this in case someone missed it yesterday. I was sure hoping to find someone from here or related to someone here. I haven't gotten much response, so the ad is up on Craigslist now. I hate having to weed through all the knuckleheads who respond to ads there, but I guess I have no choice.

Let me vouch for Tim, if you get the chance to work for this gentlemen you will be lucky! I believe that you would learn a lot from him as well, and the fact that you would be working for a pro 2A employer would just be an added bonus IMO. He definitely does things right, and his work, along with his work ethic; shines through bright and clear.
Good luck Tim and hope you find the guy or gal!

Here's another +1 for Tim. He came all the way from Woodland Park to Black Hawk to take a look at a project we were considering. Solid guy.
Too bad I am not retired yet...

I don't let anyone work for me who so regularly beats my ass on the range. Don't quit your day job!
