that thing looks soooo much better as an SBR!
I love mine. You'll enjoy the hell out of it. It makes me smile everytime I do a mag and realize I only spent sixty cents. There is alot of valuable info on arfcom on these:

Run a bunch or rounds through a friends and it was great! Can't see investing the cost of 2-3 (or more) 10/22's in one though.
For me, I wouldn't go through the Class III hassle; I'd just keep the fake can on there ...
Thanks alot Ridge, now i want one, in the little pistol. GSG-p I think. They are so cool.

So you're in the process of SBR'ing? Did you go trust or through CLEO?
Sheriff of Arapahoe County refused to sign off, so Im going trust route...
I want one of these but have a few questions. I only need to file Class III for the surpressor so, does this come with a fake or not one at all? Also, what does SBR stand for? Sorry for the lame questions.
SBR is a Short Barrelled Rifle, which is a rifle with less than 16" barrel length from the chamber face to the tip of the muzzle.
The supressor on the GSG-5 from the factory is just a fake can used to cover a stainless 16" barrel to meet the federal requirements.
That's what I figured. I just wanted to make sure....thanks!

Start it off with CCI Mini Mags and you'll be fine...they are good for breaking in the gun...
I was at The Firing Line in Aurora today and they have a GSG-5PK on the shelf for $499.99 right now...

Specialty Sports has them (5 & 5pk) in stock as of this past weekend. They also have a decent supply of mags.
What is the difference between the 5 and 5Pk, (sorry at work can't really google too much)
Whats the cost on the mags?
Thanks!
To my knowledge, which isn't very great, the 5pk is the pistol version!

Yes, a 5K would be a short-barreled rifle, and require a $200 transfer tax from the ATF, and couldn't legally be imported for civilian sales.
The 5Pk is the stockless "pistol" version, with the short barrel the "K" rifle version would normally have. But it's got no stock, so it's a pistol, so not illegal to import with the short barrel.

The mags were $37.95ea,
I own a 5pk and have a Form 1 into the ATF to convert it into a SBR.
After the paperwork comes back approved, I'll add a collapsible stock and the forward grip ATI will be importing soon. I also have a Form 4 in for a .22lr silencer.

A buddy of mine bought one of two that they had in stock a week ago this past Saturday (that would be a week anda half ago now). I was with him when he got it - drooling. I'm on ProTeckt's waiting list but given that Specialty Sports is local to me and they are currently in stock, I'm chomping at the bit to get one - just need the wifes blessing or it's the dog house for me.

I used to like you WillysWagon - especially after helping you move - but I'm not sure any more.
(Just ignore me, that's jeolousy speaking)
Congrats on the GSG!

Congrats on the GSG!
When Calico sent me my refund for a product they couldn't deliver, I re-invested the $$$.
I actually bought a GSG5 for the wife and a GSG5pk for me. I figure if I bought 2 at the same time and said one was for her, she'd let me live [Beer]

Since the purchase, I've gotten a few more mags and converted the pk lower to a SEF style.
Also threw on a sling mount and optic rail.

Man, now I'm really starting to want one..............

They are fun. I had a little problem with the ejector coming loose but I drilled and tapped it for a 4-40 screw and it works fine again.

After all the threads I've seen about this on another board, I looked and saw both had the rivet installed to correct the ejector issue. GSG or ATI is fixing this issue now, before they go to stores. Now I just need to find the time to go shoot them [ROFL1]
I am happy with my GSG5. I hope the rest of it stays strong.
OK, I've had enough.......haven't been looking at anything else but these GSG's and now I'm really starting to want one!!!!
If you guys see one or two for sale plz give me a heads up.

Well, I finally scored a GSG-5 carbine. Specialty Sports in Colo Spr got 1 in and I had been calling then over and over so I was the first to know and I snagged it yesterday (had to wait until today to pick it up).

(Yes, that's a Zombie neutralizing machete on the back of the tac vest.)
They got another order in today of 8 more GSG-5 carbines, but they had a price increase and will be selling the new ones for $549.95 (versus $509.95). If you want one, I'd check with them and ask them to hold one for you until you can fly up there and get it. There phone number is: (719) 391-2556.
If you're interested, but not from the Springs area, here is their address: 4285 E Fountain Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80916

Nice find. If the elector is fixed with rivet you should be good to go as well. I have shot the stuffing out mine and I don't feel guilty about the money spent on ammo. I finally got my red dot in and installed and I am looking forward to trying it out a little more.
If you can get one I would jump on it, because they will be priced plinkers even if they don't get banned.
