View Full Version : help...?????
Hi Y'all,
I have a bit of a fixation with photographing old gas stations, run down interesting buildings, Etc. If any of you, from NM through CO and up to WY, happen to know of any stuff that looks like the images posted below, I'd dearly love a PM with location information, as well as which direction (E/W/N/S) the structure faces. Here are a few examples:

Old barns abound out east.
Head up toward Hancock Pass. Lots of mining buildings, some old train cars ans a ghost town.
I like the pics. [Beer]
Drive greeley, you'll find em.
Have you Googled "abandoned buildings Colorado" or "abandoned buildings Wyoming"? A lot of sites offer the addresses of very interesting places.

A weekend in the Arkansas valley should yield some good results for you. Born and raised in La Junta, head south on hwy 50 from Pueblo and you may find quite a few treasures.

Just get off on Highway 70 at Limon, head down 287/40 through Limon, Hugo, Kit Carson, Cheyenne Wells, Head North up to Burlington, then West on I70, stratton, strausburg, byers, bennett and such back into denver. Any of the small towns, two lane highways.
I'll try and remember to bring a camera with me the next time we go through South Dakota. LOTS of spooky old abandoned houses there.
I will be in Trinidad tomorrow. I'll get a picture of the whole town

South on 50?
The Texas panhandle has a lot of abandoned buildings. Texline used to have quite a few, but it seems a lot of them were torn down the last time I went through. Hope, AR (where Clinton is from) is a real craphole with LOTS of abandoned buildings.

If you don't already have it, there is one in Roggen, just south of I-76, next to the tracks.

LOVE the last photo there.
Unfortunately, someone torched it since I made that photo, I drove by it yesterday and it was just a foundation and ashes...
I have a few randoms I'm rather proud of, but now that Picasa is totally useless google+ photo I need to re-upload some stuff somewhere else.
There is always the UER site too. Might give you some direction. One of the members posts histories and pics of abandoned oil towns in OK.
