So Stvros (thanks dude) picked up the 22 ammo that my daughter won in the giveaway here (thanks spleify and those who donated) and brought it down to me. We decided to get up early and have a daddy/daughter outdoor day. It could NOT have turned out better. We started the AM off fishing, it was a bit slow but she caught a fish and lost two others so it kept her interest. Our last drift she gets bit and the fish is moving right at us, I am telling her to reel as fast as she can. She said it got off but I can still see the line moving, it turns away from us just about rips the rod out of her hands. 5 minutes of battle, I am up to my knees in freezing cold water and this is what she caught. She could not lift it herself. We were both screaming like little girls, it was pretty funny.

Heres the first one she got:

So we finish that on a high note, off to breakfast then some range time. I figured this would be iffy at best but we got there and there was on other .22 shooter way down at the end so noise wasn't gonna be a problem. Turned out we had the place to ourselves for an hour after he left. She was tentative at first but I shot a few, held the 10/22 while she pulled the trigger and then let her have at it. She had a great time. She said it was just as fun as fishing. I had to work this afternoon otherwise she wanted to stay and shoot the whole box. It was so cool that she did not want to leave. The gun was way too big for her but she did great.

I was going to say the same. Heck of a catch. [Coffee] And I have a granddaughter a little older that I need to take out. I like fountain over falcon. Almost always empty.

Great way to spend the evening. Sipping whiskey and seeing good men teaching their children about the outdoors and our heritage.

Well done.
