Just saw signs of this show yesterday. Anybody know anything about these? Haven't been to a show since coming west in August. Might go just to scope things out ...

If it's anything like the last several I wasted time on it'll cost you ten bucks just to walk in the door and you'll walk out disappointed.

Unless you want to spend double for whatever you want, don't bother. The vendors at those shows are raping the masses.

I think a few of you have had a little too much hateraid.

Some vendors are ass raping the consumers.

Every vendor has had to raise prices on some items to reflect replacement costs from the manufacturer or the wholesaler.

However a lot of vendors have only raised pri\cesenough to cover thier increased costs.

There's alot more ass-rapeing going on by the majority of vendors than honest cost of buisness increases. Lets not kid ourselves. It's no different than a few bad cops making people hate cops in general. Only problem in this case is that the decent dealers/vendors are the minority.

First I thought it was $6 to get in. The same large vendors that are at Tanner for the most part are at the springs show. I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

At the last show Aloharover was there and selling cheap and doing a good volume. primers/bullets were cheaper than retail and mail order on allot of items after you figure shipping. There are still some guys that only do the springs show and enough private tables that I almost always find a couple of good deals.

I spent $200 last show and it was a better deal than buying online. I have heard that some vendors have raised there prices. I have a short shopping list for this show so if they are too out of line I will take my $$ elswhere.

The CoSpgs show is $5 admission. There is another Tanner at the Merchandise Mart Dec 6-7.

I dunno, last show in the Springs I picked up some reasonably priced Pmags from Hasher, and ran into a friend walking around. There's really no reason to expect a whole lot from the events, so that makes it easier to avoid disappointment.

ok I admit there are a few good guys mixed in with lots of bad. Yes there will be some higher prices due to cost of getting the product, but there is a whole lot of down right gouging going on. Enough that makes me never to attend the shows again. I will deal internet or local from now on with the guys that are doing their best to support those who support them. Even if I have to wait because they are incredibly busy.

I will say I have never seen anything like it in the springs ever. Saw some friends, bought some supplies and by the time I left one hour after it opened the place was packed and there was a 200' line to get in. Bought some brass and bullets for a friend and some brass and primers for me and it was time to hit the door.

I did notice some vendors had raised there prices to stupid levels but many had only gone up a bit. There was one guy that always had a bunch of overpriced junk now had some real overpriced junk. I did get primers for $25 (only needed a couple) 7.62X39 brass for $60 per 500 and lead bullets were cheap if you shopped right.

It was your typical Colorado Springs show... Lots of gun junque and flea market stuff. I did get a sweet bright green laser for $75 and one Glock 19 Magazine for $20, the guy said being it was marked LE Only, he could only sell to LE... WTF? [ROFL1] Talked to the guys at Machine Gun Tours, nice, knowledgeable and gracious. Made up for the stupid vendors that seems to multiply at the shows... One guy had H&K .45 USP mags for $59 each...

Colorado Fatboy
11-28-2008, 21:46
And $24 PMAGS.

They come with the Ranger floorplate, about $19 cost of mag + $5 for floor plate = $24
Also had some 20 round for $17, those are very hard to come by.

As for the Wolf for $350, they can keep it!

I did score a few Pmags from them though.

Alan and the crew at MGT are good people who know their stuff and treat their customers right. If you don't like their price on something then don't buy it, but lets not bash long time forum dealers thats just not cool.

I bought a couple things this morning, was told to expect 24 hours on the background check, never seen them that long before.

Edit BG check took 5.5 hours approx.

As for the Wolf WTF is up with that? It can be had online for MUCH less not to mention no tax.

i'll take 10 cases at the MUCH cheaper price you can get it for. pm me for payment.

AND i don't want to wait 2-3 weeks for delivery. I want it NOW. step up.

also as posted above $24.00 includes ranger plates.

I guess if you plan to make a profit and support your family you are just raping people.
Get over it.

Like I said I did buy some PMAGS from MGT, gave them almost $200 of my money and they treated me very well. They thanked me for the sale and I believe it was Alan who personally said he was sorry they had no LPK's available.

As for the ammo if they can get $350 for 1000 rounds of Wolf then more power to them. I'm not that desperate and can wait a few weeks for my online order to come in. Wolf is available unlike PMAGS.

I edited my original post since I wasn't trying to bash anybody. Just wanted to share my experience and give others a heads up on what to expect at the show if they decide to go. Will I do business with MGT in the future? Absolutely!

FWIW if you think you want to buy something tomorrow, get your 4473 in before, say 11. The checks I ran today took about 4 hours. Show closes at 4 tomorrow, so you will want to have them in by 11.

:D

My post regarding the Wolf ammo and MGT was not meant to bash anyone. Just a post regarding the price of their ammo. I did what most consumers should do, I voted with my wallet & my feet. I went home and bought ammo on the web - although I was tempted to pick up a couple of PMags.

As soon as I got home I hit the Internet & ordered: 1K of Wolf .223 for $230 + $21.65 shipping + $2.16 fuel surcharge = $253.81 delivered to my door, 1K of Prvi M885 for $413.24 delivered, and backordered 10 non-windowed PMags from Brownells for $12.97/mag.

I'll never fault anyone trying to make a living - charge what you want for your products! I'll reserve the right to just pass on by if the price is too high for me!

I got more 7.62x51 LC brass yesterday and brought 10k with me to the show.
Its almost entirely all LC-07 and they must be using a different batch of 240Bs to fire it, no dents in the shoulders.

100$ per k

Also looks like CBI is getting caught up finally, only 70 back ground checks in the Q. About a 90 minute wait right now

Here is what gets me.

Not one single persopn mad eme an offer on that ammo other than paying wha ti quoted and btw all of it was gone fri.

Not one person even attempted to offer me a lower price.

And the Pmags do have the ranger plates on them which I noticed you failed to mention in your bashing.

Did you notice the guy that had the Draco pistol for $1499.00?

Or the Double Star AR's for 1600.00?

I forgot about the Tactical 10-22, painted black with a 30 round (!) magazine for only $285... http://www.usualsuspect.net/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif I bought a few of the PMags, they DID have Ranger Floorplates and I would have bought more (without bitching) if I had more money.

This was one of the better shows I've seen in the Springs. Hall was absolutely packed Friday and still pretty crowded Saturday. The snowfall seemed to have slowed things down by Sunday but then I left around 10:30 or 11:00 when things were just starting to pick up.

ARs were high (but then I got mine years ago for less than $700 complete) but Dad's was doing good business with ammo and reloading supplies, Nick Dailey had pretty good prices for M-1 carbine stuff (as usual), etc. I picked up 3 mags for my Ruger 22/45 for $15 each, 2 30-rd mags for a Ruger 10/22 for $25 and a few other things.

This is capitalism folks -- if you don't like the prices, haggle or don't buy. If you think you can do better then set up a table and make yourself some money.

There were also some really sweet older guns there as well as crafts like local honey from Larkspur, Colorado-made leather products, etc.

usually it is priced or we try to price before the doors open. However some guys grab a rifle or gun off the racks and not one in the box. most of the rifles are display items. it makes it easier to see whats available vs. empty racks because of the line of people wanting to buy what they see in front of them.
trying to get setup, make sure ALL the firearms have tiewrapped triggers, answer questions from other vendors, AND deal with the mad rush of 4473's folks want to fill out ASAP some things get left by the wayside.

Nobody cried to anybody get over yourself Gary. You crossed the line it's real simple you are free to speak you're mind! However when you tell people to "get the sand out of their pussy" that crosses the line on this site.

Seriously enough is enough.

This thread is about to get locked and moved to the trash like the last posts.

It's real simple keep it civil or this thread will be gone also and everyone can blame me! Hows that nobody cried except HunterCO!
