View Full Version : stupid co drivers(f40 wreck)

I've been talking quite a bit to the owner since this happened. He was traveling westbound on 6th avenue just before going under the federal blvd overpass. he said a blue minivan didn't look when it was changing lanes and clipped the right front nose of the f40. The owner of the f40 slammed on the brakes, he spun out, and the van drive fled the scene... He believes it was a medium sized japanese van like a nissan quest or something like that. Blue in color with light blue/gray bumpers. Shouldn't have much damage on it, but should have red paint rubbed on the bumper. i've been trying to look at webcam/traffic cameras of this stretch of road, which i have found, i just don't know how to look at it at a certain time range.. i even emailed the people who manage the cameras asking if they can give me the video or pictures from the time this happened yesterday. owner thinks none of the important stuff was touched and wants to get replacement parts for it to get it back out on the road.

Ryan (the owner) is an awesome guy and one of the few people with the means to own one of those unicorns that actually drives the hell out of it. I have met him numerous times at car meets and he is absolutely good people. I feel terrible that this happened,
Never met the owner but i've seen the car before at cars and coffee. I know several people that know him, and he does not drive stupid. He respects the multiple exotics that he owns, what really sucks is he just sank a lot of money (for us poor folks) into the engine of the car.

Friend of mine says there is no frame, transmission or engine damage, so it will be built.

Mainstream insurance usually won't even touch a car like that- he'd have to go to a special carrier for that kind of stuff. The guy that lives up here with the Veyron, Enzo, Two Lambos and a laundry list of other exotics -plus really nice box seats at the Pepsi Center ;) -used to have them insured through us and we couldn't use Travelers, Chubb, or Progressive (the 3 companies we represent), we had to track down a special carrier for exotic/classic cars. Some of them just total out rare cars with slight damage because parts are either impossible to find, or discontinued, and you get a nice check for the value (sometimes appreciated).

As stupid as this sounds... I live off Perry and 6th and my neighbors have blue van that they were working on last night in front of my house. I will check tonight to see if it has red paint on it.

I refuse to use turn signals here...it's like a sign for idiots to speed up and confuse the elderly, so forget it. People in CO also think it's appropriate to try and speed up when they are behind you in order to cut in front of you to get into the lane next to you so they can turn [Mad]

State Farm has always been excellent to me, my family, and friends. Usually when you get "fucked" by State Farm, it's because you were at fault or the other company is screwing State Farm, so you have to wait. State Farm has low rates and is difficult to get into for a damn good reason.

My wife was rear ended back in NC from an 18yo kid in a new Ford truck with one of those metal bumper ramming bar things. She was stopped at a light and he smashed into her going 50mph. Pushed her into the car in front of her so her car was smashed at both ends. She couldn't turn her head for days and it took months of physical therapy to fix her up. The next day after the accident the kid flew to Panama City beach for spring break. America breeds a culture of "it's not my fault" so nobody takes any responsibility for their actions. Looking back at it now we should've sued them; the guy was a VP at IBM and they lived in a million dollar house while we were renting a shit hole apartment.
At least he wasn't pit maneuvered, causing him to roll ten times like what recently happened in Avon.
