Nothing says "I love you, Mom" like shooting an intruder in the face for her. Could've been something like a .22 shotshell.

I thought this was going to be a kid but other than that great story... I just had thoughts of a 10 year old defending Mom here!

Moral of the story: 00 buckshot for when you absolutely, positively have to say "Happy Mother's Day" in a big, special way. Birdshot should be reserved for Secretary's Day, Nursing Appreciation Week, or other assorted weenie holidays.

Since that's the only .22 rounds anyone can find nowadays.

Yeah, I know. When I got off Sunday (after a particularly grueling 12 hour shift), the quality control/education staff was sitting out in the parking lot of the hospital with a bunch of rubbermaid bins filled with gas-station pastries. My night shift cronies and I all swung a wide berth to try to avoid the plastered-on corporate cheeriness, and one of them practically RAN toward us waving one of the pastries. Awful... just awful. You know how this nurse would like to be appreciated? A complimentary case of Jack, or a few hundred rounds of ammo. :-)

Not every barrel/choke can handle the slugs... everything can handle the buckshot... ?

Mom would be *pissed* at the mess you made on the rug.
