That is all.
I'm planning to donate some ammo when confiscation starts. Not a second before.

Sounds like a tight knit community, good for them.

His order was for only 1,000 rounds? What? He have a 2-Officer department?

My take was this is a fine piece of propaganda. The citizen is saying "we have plenty." Really? Who do you know that has plenty of ammo? Most people I know have cut back on shooting and are not happy. Some folks got caught with pants down and only have a few hundred rounds for a rifle and a couple of boxes for a handgun.
This article was designed to deflect attention from DHS and make it appear the citizens are the ones hoarding. It did a great job in my opinion! But that's just my opinion...
I'll keep my ammo unless I sell it to them for a premium to get some of my tax dollars back.

I can understand if you are holding on for your own needs but what's your malfunction that you're laughing at them? Good for the town that they respond to need -- I'd just as soon the officers have something to practice with rather than be some of those who unload 40+ rounds at 10-20 feet and only have 3 or 4 hits. Sheriff Maketa has proven to be an excellent supporter of Constitutional government so I'd be happy to help out if EPSO had a similar problem.

I know a few people who have plenty. I know a few people who have more than plenty.
Proctor, Minnesota IS tight-knit. The citizens up there have what we can only dream of down here, and that's a sense of community, responsibility and integrity.
There's a lot of small towns in Minnesota that are like that.

Propaganda, Really ? Small towns like that everyone, has everyone else back.
If my local Marshall needed ammo, I would have no problem loaning his department some. Not saying that about the Sheriff's dept or the next town over though

Quite simple. LEO=gov't. They should ask their buddies at DHS to borrow a cup of bullets. I'm not a fan of either, and per the site rules, I'll leave it there. There are exceptions to every stereotype, but I believe they exist for a reason. And I'm in complete agreement - this reeks of a propaganda piece.

I kinda see both sides of this situation.
If I knew it was a real deal for my local law enforcement to have ammo, I would probably donate SOME of mine to the department.
I also think seriously about the propaganda side of it.
Military and LEO's get first dibs right? If they are hurting and we can get ammo at pre-panic-ish prices with some effort that is odd. Non the less if they need it, it is your choice to help. I know if my sheriff were to ask for help i would laugh in his face and give him a one fingered salute.

No they really do not get first dibs unless they are a rather large dept like DPD or LAPD or something like that . Usually they order from distributors just like everybody else.

This, every department should have a 2 year supply of duty and practice ammo at minimum.
And also many departments are having problems with officers "stocking up" on ammo while at the range, they are grabbing rounds and dropping them in pockets before they leave.

That's conspiracy theory talk right there young man.
If they stock up it's for some evil oppress the population buzz. If we stock up it's a racist, paranoid, delusional , mindset brought on by a White America deep distrust for our first Black President.
Myself it's so i can get some range time in once, hopefully twice a month.

Damned if they do and damned if they dont. If they stock up we say they are getting ready to take over the world, if they dont stock up then it sucks for them I guess they dont get any bullets to protect themselves and the citizens.
Saying all leo are bad is like saying all gun owners are lunatics.

Is that sarcasm or do you misunderstand me, it is officers getting ammo so that they can shoot there personal guns at the range or there duty guns more than once a year for the most part.

Selection A,

This citizen doesn't need a LEO to protect him. If they want to protect themselves, they should have to deal with the same shortage bullshit the rest of us are.
So the Chief asked the community, but of course this was after he asked if Big Sis could spare some rounds?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahafuckyou.That is all. LOL
I could see if it were El Paso, Weld, Larimer counties etc. But LPD or BCSD gets a big fat NO.
If I was in a small town like this I might help out a little since I'd have a better understanding of the situation. But if Aurora PD or Arapahoe sheriff asked for extra ammo they'd get the finger. Smaller towns and counties can't put in for standing orders over a multi year period like areas with larger populations and taxes, so when they have their training days they usually have to order rounds at that time.

I'm stocked up....wondered if I'm racist, paranoid or delusional ....I am white though.
I kinda don't care that the nations CEO is a "brother"...since you brought it up. But I would like to slap the taste out of his mouth for his and his parties position on just about anything.

....and I live in a really small town BTW... part of my rationale in being willing to donate SOME.
Yeah, anybody else would get the finger for sure.

That was kinda my point. Should've put quotes around "donate".
