Doh! I was foolish enough to clean one of my ARs in the backyard earlier today.
But seriously, this shit has been going on for over two hours now.

Lmao.
No not yet that takes effect the same month we celebrate our independence, kind of ironic huh.

Not to derail this thread but yesterday the complex I live in had about 8 cruisers and K9 units in here for about 5 hours. I didn't hear anything on the scanner and wondering if there's a way to find info on the internet ? I live in Westminster if that helps. Thanks.

Is this still going on? Nope, still don't know who or what they were looking for. Word on the street is there was a fat ninja running around the neighborhood. AKA heavy set man wearing all black possibly armed. pretty dam vague.

Why didn't you run out there and ask them what was going on then run back inside?

If it has been going on for awhile, they will have moved all radio traffic to one of the tac channels that are not able to be monitored. Just in case you are trying to listen in online...

If you give them the secret code they would be able to listen.

I wouldn't give 'em anything without a warrant.

Everything is on the "system" except a few VHF channels that are rarely used, you can still listen via online feeds like the one posted earlier but anything tactical like a SWAT operation will be encrypted and not on any online or scanner feed.
You can get some scanners that are capable of listening to the system but they are kind of pricey.

That doesn't sound like a checkpoint, it sounds like a perimeter. They're probably looking for someone that is a danger to your neighborhood. And they most likely moved all the radio traffic to a tactical channel that isn't on a scanner.
