I have five .308 PMAGS but no rifle to go with it. Looking to pair them with an LMT MWS .308. The barrel swap is an interesting twist for an AR platform.
Anyone have a MWS and done barrel swaps? Curious on impact on repeatability/accuracy, change of zero when replacing with a different barrel or removing barrel for cleaning and reinstalling it.

Based on some reviews I've read, seems like no loss in zero/accuracy when removing/reinstalling barrel. The torque wrench that is provided by LMT is a little unusual. It is preset to the appropriate in-lb rating but cannot be changed. Not entirely sure why it can't be changed, but some folks have commented that it doesn't remain at specs over time and setting the proper torque is key to repeatability.
I have the LMT coming in, so I guess I'll learn more about it once it arrives.

Also understand that the LMT MWS barrel assembly is proprietary, which sort of makes sense since it is secured using two bolts. Understand there are a couple companies that do conversions, but not entirely sure what all is involved.
Any ideas?

one option to consider is just going with something like a mega mkm....you could build something just as nice as the LMT but with more flexibility in parts/barrels/etc...If the LMT process (I don't have one) still requires a torque wrench, then I would imagine there's little difference with just changing the barrel on a similar type platform.

Dire: Thanks. Already committed to the LMT route, but mega arms is another quality receiver to start with.

LMT has a neat feature in their barrel swaps.
A friend here (he does commercial electrical work for a living) has a 16" chrome lined .308 with a 6.5 creedmore stainless as an extra barrel. He beats up 500 and in with the .308. Then he switches out and destroys the 1k targets.
Texas is a different country. Hog hunting is hilarious, btw.

I've got the 16" CL .308 barrel, which is about a 1.5 MOA shooter. I also have the 20" .260 Rem barrel, which is a darn tack-driver.
