I have purchased a Romanian AK kit, NoDak spud receiver, and I am looking for good suggestions on barrels. So far I have heard "Green Mountain" and "Look on gun broker for a romanian barrel because american made barrels are crap"
I would appreciate your thoughts on this as I am new to the AK platform.
Anywhere local (colorado) I could purchase a good barrel?

Sure if you can find a Romanian barrel that's not going for a small fortune go for it.But in my oppinion a Green Mountain barrel is just fine.
Only thing is you have to do some work to them to make it fit.IE drill the pin holes for the fsb and gsb and the barrel pin after you get it headspaced.I think the handguard retainer slot is cut and the gas port might also need to be drilled out.
What a country has barrels and from what I remember they were Green Mountain.

APEX has the Rommy barrels but would need all the pin holes and gas port drilled and the retainer slot cut.

Best thing is ther from Colorado and Richard frequents the local gunshows.
And I think Richard is a member here on the board as well.
