Ok, not trying to knock anybody's hobby... what seriously, WTF is with this adult male MLP obsession? I don't understand it, and probably never will.

It's just like every other cartoon that is written by adults.
The only cartoon that I could sit and watch a few hours of, were the early seasons of Spongebob. They had some good, clever, just ever-so-slightly adult references thrown in for the parents. It degenerated quickly after season 4.
So here I sit, passing judgement on guys who watch MLP - safe from the comfortable moral superiority of fandom for a talking sponge on Nickelodeon.
So there.
P.S. My favorite Spongebob episode was the "Imagination Box". Patrick is "climbing a mountain" and becoming more erratic - finally on the way up, he shouts out "I am the Lizard King!!!!" I almost died laughing.
I liked The Marvelous Misadventures of FlapJack.

which is a rip off of The Simpsons episode when they did Duff Gardens [ or what ever it was called]. Lisa had her hands in the water going through the tunnel. After exiting she wanders around kind of stoney lodo saying "I'm the Lizard Queen"

I liked The Marvelous Misadventures of FlapJack.
I found that show to be a little creepy. Too many cringe-worthy moments.
Adventure Time is weird and funny. Ben10 is OK. The new Green Lantern is good. I really got into Young Justice, more so than my son. The Annoying Orange is mostly annoying. Yes, Cartoon Network is on WAY too much in my house.
I used to enjoy "Courage The Cowardly Dog". It was nice if one was in an "enhanced" mindset. :-)

My favorite cartoon was always Reboot. I liked it even more after getting into computer science and understanding some of the jokes behind the jokes.

I just watched "Avengers: Earths Mightiest Heros" on Netflix. Awesome show. Very well done.

Oldest popeye's, the animation is amazing.

Sure, for an old Coast Guard sailor with tumors on his forearms that is a stroke survivor.
Favorite cartoon growing up was Voltron and now I DVR Archer on FX.
I gotta admit, I gave MLP a shot, couldn't get into it... but I do still love me some Family Guy!

Ridge, I gotta ask...
Now this is an actual question with no ulterior motive, not trying to dig atcha. But is the whole MLP thing because of the comedic dichotomy of a gun enthusiast excited about pony princesses, or is there something in the show that is legitimately entertaining to you? And if so, what is it? I'm perplexed...

Venture Bros and Archer.
Seriously, The Venture Bros season 1 is available on Netflix. The show is for adults, kids wouldn't understand a single thing about it, and it's all about failure. Makes me feel right at home.

He has explained it a couple of times. The shows bring in a lot of references from the 80s and 90s media.

I do genuinely enjoy to watch the show. Many times it can have genuinely entertaining story lines, and the characters be relatable on some level.
Plus, it is something with a happy, positive story when everything else on television is about blood, gore or sex. It's a nice positive break from a pretty miserable reality.

tmlead has it playing all the time on his youtube channel at his shop...
while the children and the neighborhood are being educated to stay away from my truck...

Ok, this I can understand. Maybe this does for you, what old 80's Ahnold movies do for me. :-)

Oh come on! All my favorite shows a chalk full of blood, gore and sex... Game of Thrones anyone??? I think it's a prerequisite in order to call a show "good." [Coffee]

Hell yes... I'm on this new kick, Running Man, I forgot how many great Arnie 1-liners there are in it!

Did we just become best friends?
LMAO... yup. One of the classics, for sure. That, "True Lies", and "Commando" are my top three picks. It truly doesn't get any better than the "You're fired" scene in TL. [Beer]
Too bad you live so far up in the hills - I think we'd get along famously. I don't make friends easily, but I think we're of a similar breed.

Cartoons aren't just for kids...it's that kind of thinking which gets people up in arms over things like South Park.
As far as the MLP thing goes...I don't get the whole bronie thing... MLP: Apples for Apple Jack (Strong Language) (http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/593993)
