View Full Version : I keep getting logged out
So, just recently, I've been getting logged out even though I select the "remember me" button. For years, all I've had to do is just open the site and boom, I'm already logged in. Now, I have to login manually. And if I go visit other forums and come back here, same thing, even though this site was still open under a different tab.
What gives? Can I fix this? This doesn't happen on other forums I have setup under different homepage tabs.
I get this on my iPhone using Chrome. No idea why either, a small bug IMO

What browser and OS are you using? Does it happen the same in another browser?

Browser is IE 8, OS is XP Pro. IE 8 may be the problem, but it doesn't do this on other forums I visit, just this one.
I don't use any other browsers. Tried Firefox for awhile, didn't like it. Don't remember why, but something about it pissed me off. Something about photos I think. I don't like IE 8 either, I'd like to go back to 7.

I also get logged out if I view a thread then hit the back button. But if I tap on the site logo I am logged back on again. iPad I, 5.something OS, the last one for gen I iPads.
I ask about other browsers to get an idea of where the problem is, not to tell you to switch.
Can you try to do the exact same actions in IE, and in FireFox or Chrome and see if you get logged out in both?
This will help me determine if another site may have the same cookie name, or maybe an improper handling by one browser, or a systematic issue.
Yeah the first iPad has some issues... its a core compatibility issue with vBulletin 4.xx. Not much to do about it unfortunately.

My iPhone 5 does it but the iPad 2 does not.
