Sad day... I think that guy did a fantastic job of giving the Doors their distinctive sound. Morrisson was made a star and lovingly propped up by a set of far more talented band-mates, IMHO.

My take as well. Not only was Manzarek the pianist/organist, he was also the bassist (at the same time).

I believe Manzarek played a huge roll in writing the music for a lot of there songs. With out Morrison's antics and sex symbol status who knows if the Doors would have made it so far. but i agree with you.
