As we enter the "official" Memorial Day Weekend let us remember those who lost their lives, limbs, sanity and some their soul.
Those who volunteered and those who were drafted. Those who came home to ticker ticker tape parades and those who came home to jeering mobs, empty homes and shattered lives.
War is not glorious nor is dying. However without those who served and serve today, we would not be on this board, or others, agreeing, disagreeing, coming to keyboard blows. Meeting for fun, food and family. "WE" would not be able to burn an American Flag, the symbol which some many died for.
"WE" would not be able to own firearms, drive any car we choose, or listen and play music, watch movies or tv shows that supported and condemned this Great country of ours.

Thank you to those who serve, served and have or had family members who did their part, in war and times of peace.

God bless those who have served, are serving, or will be serving our country soon.

I'll be having a few cold ones in your honor.

All gave some, some gave all.

Thanks. I had words swirling round the brain cavity, early am and after some rearranging this was the final draft. Tell your friends and enemies alike.

Thank you Jim. We certainly need to keep the reason for this holiday in mind and maintain our perspective.

That video of the young lady was the perfect thing to cap off your comments. Beautiful.

I went with my family this evening to The Wall in Ft. Collins for the Taps Ceremony. It was more soul stirring and moving than I thought it would be, bringing memories of family that have served in the armed services. I took a few photos presented here.

I carry the faces of those that I served with me and I see them everyday.
