Bureaucracy. Pay now and we'll get to it when we get to it.

I totally agree with you, however I believe that is why they allow for renewal 90 days prior to expiration.

They really should standardize the process across the state. Arapahoe prints renewals on the spot.
Well it's been a while since someone else whined about it..
For the record, I'm against Sex Offender Registration requirements on principal.
Mine only took a week in El Paso County, but that's still too long to wait.

Been this way for at least two years now.. I have not always believed this but knowing what I know now about the much of the process, it really is not that inefficient. I do not understand renewels. I foster children, (really my wife and daughters do I just kick in the father figure, they do the work.. bless them) Its not just about guns.. There is just several data bases that not one agency has access to, to protect your individual rights..
Nevermind...still bullshit when you take into account all the fricken abuses..

Arapahoe printed mine on the spot when I renewed in June.

Just got mine in the mail today, applied for it July 30th. Weld County.
Applied for mine with El Paso 42 days ago and just got it in the mail. Not too bad, a lot better than i was expecting.
Adams County wait time to make an appointment to submit the paper work is out past MARCH 2014.

When I renewed mine in Larimer last year I was told that it would take all 90 days as the application rate was so high. I called in and checked after 30 days and it was in the que, called again at 60 days and still in the que, visited at 74 days to make an address change and hoped that it would not derail the application (they said it wouldn't), called at 88 days and they said it was complete and would be in the mail the next day, received it at 91 days. It sure is pretty.
I went in on August 5th to renew my permit. I got my letter on September 6th that my permit was ready. This is in Denver, it did take me 3 months just to get an appointment to get it renewed.

Adams Co took 57 days to send me mine and took just under 70 days for my wife's. Not sure of the delay on hers as we applied together on Aug. 15. Just happy we are good for the next 5 years! Keeping my fingers crossed its easier to get an appointment for renewal than it was for a new app but I'm not holding out a lot of hope on that one.
Adams county is very anti-gun. If they could deny you your permit, they would.
This is one thing I talked to the incoming sheriff candidates about. This needs to be standardized and times shortened. There is no reason a renewal cant take 15 minutes and print on the spot. And no reason the front office people are not working on these and taking applications 5 days a week.

There's no reason anything should be a wait for a consistent long period of time. What I mean is this: obviously a queue can develop anywhere, when there are more customers than cashiers. But the line is always growing or shrinking. It never stays the same, at least not for any lengthy period of time.
If there is a 90 day queue for your CCW, fine. But 6 months later the wait is still 90 days. And 6 months later, the wait is 90 days. Clearly there is no queue due to being overwhelmed with applications. If there was too much work to do, the line would be growing steadily. If they had too little, it should be shrinking. Obviously they have too little work if they can always keep the queue at 90 days, and they make it take 90 days because they want to fuck with you. Period.
