anyone catch this yesterday?

Pentagon to Detail Troops to Bolster Domestic Security (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/11/30/AR2008113002217_pf.html)

"There are critics of the change, in the military and among civil liberties groups and libertarians who express concern that the new homeland emphasis threatens to strain the military and possibly undermine the Posse Comitatus Act, a 130-year-old federal law restricting the military's role in domestic law enforcement."
for domestic security? what the hell is this? exactly how many steps is it from "domestic security" to "martial law"? i'm certainly not a conspiracty nut, but all it will take is somebody to do something stupid, and then, then we have problems... doesn't anybody study history anymore? am i the only one who sees how dangerous this is?

So, who "exactly" will the U.S. Military Domestic Security Force be deployed against? Are their orders to shoot to kill? Or will they just round up "domestics" and herd them off to concentration ...... er, I mean "rehabilition" camps?

Who are their targeted "enemies"? Would the enemy be the names on a list? A list of registered gun owners?

This is not something you should take lightly, nor is it a joking matter.

There's what 5-6 divisons over there, about 5000 troops per,, Yeah, that sounds about right..

I say put the 20,000 troops along the southern border with the order to fire at will. Shore up that easy access for illegals and drug runners. That will sure help national security.

The 5-6 Divisions are not coming home but redeploying to Afganistan. There is nothing troublesome with the article, just move along.

Your waking people up. Shh....

The Matrix is a system, Neo. That system is our enemy. But when you're inside, you look around, what do you see? Businessmen, teachers, lawyers, carpenters. The very minds of the people we are trying to save. But until we do, these people are still a part of that system and that makes them our enemy. You have to understand, most of these people are not ready to be unplugged. And many of them are so injured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it.

Sorry, you reminded me of that line...
I'm one of those annoying guys that can carry on an entire conversation using only quotes from movies...[Stooge]

Of course it's my opinion. That's why I wrote it. Otherwise, I would have documented my source. You trying to horn in on my action as "Master of the Obvious"?

I never said I wasn't ready. I just don't see my brother-in-law holding me at bayonet point.

I don't what you guys are so worried about. The Government is here to help and protect us. They would never violate our civil rights again. They have learned their lessons so we should just back off being worried about it.

My appologies. I didn't realize that position was already filled. [NoClue]

I never said I wasn't ready.

We need to be more than just equipment ready. We need to be psychologically ready. We could be forced into a position to do things tomorrow, that are unthinkable today. All the firepower in the world is worthless if you're not mentally prepared to pull the trigger.

Oh Wise one we know where the troops live as some have served, you must have to make the Airborne comment. It's their AO that worries us & the fact that troops will be used for domestic policing.

The truth is in your face, your country is coming to it's end, Bankers stole 8,000,000,000,000 thus far from the tax payer. Globalist(who own the Fed Res) will control this country by the end of next year.

Soo, you think your child will pull the trigger?
Have they started telling you how all the folks in their unit would do so?

Did anyone even read the article linked? You know that this has been something in the works for years? In many states there already exist CBRNE teams in place with in the national Guard?

Why is this Infantry and not CSS if the mission were support or WMD? Oh,well. The Government will take care of it. [ROLL]

Its not just one or the other, its both. The idea is that a single BCT contains the bodies needed to perform the mission. Its already a self contained unit, with a single C2 structure in place. The unit is going through additional training to support this new role. And they are still trying to determine if the response team would be active or Guard. There are many that believe its more of a Guard type mission, however the AD side has the time and money to train up and respond quicker.
This is a new assignment for units that will rotate between CONUS units. Its an additional duty if you will, with out any increase in the size of the force, or restructuring.
Do you know of a CSS Brigade?

westy1970

Do you know of a CSS Brigade?Fair enough. I don't. My time on AD I was a lower EM and not privy to larger scale stuff.
