I hear they're offering $50 per weapon. I find it ironic they hold it the same weekend Tanner is in town. I wonder if there is anything against standing down there and offering $75? Based on type and quality ofcourse.

Will they take "ANYTHING" for 50 dollars? Maybe a way to clear out a few wall hanger POS items and have a down payment on something that actually fires huh?

I have a cap gun I will sell for $50. [Coffee]
I have an old Charter Arms Undercover that might be worth $50.
It will hit the broadside of a barn.
...if you're standing in its shadow.

Would this be worth $50?
Think I could get them to test fire it?

Heck, a couple strokes with a hacksaw and you've got a classic Southern truck gun. [Tooth]
Hmmm, I have the barreled action of a Italian Carcano that My brother was trying to do something with... However, I think the date alone would make it worth at least $75....1916... Just need to find a stock for it..
Any chance your brother's name is Lee Harvey? ;)
It is for these buy backs, I hit the flea markets and get rusty, crudded up wall hangers! I bought a pair of "deuling pistols" at a garage sale, paid $7 for the pair... Gas and door fees!

I heard about a city back east somewhere just a week or two ago where they did a buy back. Collectors lined up outside, and were offering money to buy firearms. At some point the article said that the police told them they could not do it. I say we go for it until they tell us we cannot. Damn, I have to work. May have to send a buddy up there.
Wow i can see a money maker here,, bb guns are 19.95 at harbor frieght.. and I sell em for 50.00 WOW,, better than a gubment bailout plan....
Of course, even if they realized they just payed for 8,000 toys and 50 firearms the media will still report that they took "10,000 dangerous weaposn off the street" [Bang] Your math is off, 8000 x 50 = 400,000 evil ASSault weapons off the street...
how can they prevent private business transactions?

3 or more people in an area is considered a gunshow. read the BG check bill. no one did and thats one of the reasons it passed

Following the same line of reasoning, unless this organization holds an FFL they cannot buy guns without a background check. What they are doing may be illegal. Huh?
Just saw this on the news. The moron tried to pull this off in a park where firearms are not allowed. Made me laugh. It never happened.

Got to thinking about this myself when I was out at Tanners. Why isn't the buy-back program a gun show.
Look at this:

These folks need to realize they can't have it both ways.

I plan on showing up...with a sign that says
"licensed collector wants to buy legally owned guns"
I do have an 03 FFL and plan on making people sign a document stating they are the legal owner of the firearm.
Whaddya think?
Already did google recon.. parking lot on 9th looks like the place to park.
Thx Brad
If you do, expect to be hassled by DPD.
Remember the hunter that got arrested and tossed in the slammer during the DNC?
