View Full Version : Best Day of your life
Been thinking about this lately and was wondering what the best day of your life is?
Birth of your child
Getting married
Getting divorced
Joining/Retiring from the military?
blah, blah, blah
you get the point, what say you?
Moving out of a communist state..At least it was for a short while..
Actualy I have to say it was my son's 2nd birthday.
That's when I realized there's more to life then the crap I was doing.

So far in no particular order - marriage, birth of my nephews, the day I quit iron working and started my job now. Hopefully some day when my chitlins is bornt.
The best day of my life....every day I come home and my 3 year-old son comes running to meet me with a smile and wide-open arms. As I know these days will not last forever. :(

It hasn't happened yet, but I'm willing to bet 29May2013, my first child (son) is scheduled to be born!!
Birth of my first child. He was born on 9/11. For his 11th birthday, he got to say goodbye to me for a while because I had to go back to work.
I was very happy the day I got married and the day my other children were given to me; but there is nothing quite like the first time.
He is sitting here in the room with me right now. A wonderful 22 year old man. This reminds me that I need to tell him that I love him.
Thanks for the reminder.

Last fall when I got to carry my two-months prem son from the birthing room down the hall to the NICU was the bestest day EVAR.
The day my daughter came into this world kicking and screaming at a whopping 2.5 lb's and 3 months early. Not a day goes by that I'm not thankful for her coming into my life.....albeit a tad early. This would also qualify as the scariest day of my life.

1. Day my Son was born.
2. Day I rediscovered how much I enjoyed shooting
3. Day the paperwork finalized to be rid of wife #2

WOW!!! I have no children, by choice, but you guys are the most down to earth people I have ever been associated with. I am floored by all of your dedication to family. You guys should be commended for your attitudes. You are what makes this country what it should be!

Getting the amniocentesis results that the earlier tests indicating Downs Symptoms for Mt second son were totally wrong. The previous week was the worst week of my life.

10/3/2010.
When I was sick with cancer, my wife asked where I wanted to go when I got better (thinking London, Paris, etc). Green Bay, WI. ("For real?" "yes." -Sorry Broncos fans, I'm originally from Milwaukee)
It was a few months after learning I was in remission and just sort of a day designated "my day." Got Packers tickets at Lambeau vs. Lions for my wife and I, my parents, my in-laws, and my two best friends.
Tailgated, Packers won, spent time with family & friends. Unbeknownst to me, my wife had written a letter to the Green Bay Packers, and when I got home I had a box of goodies from them with an autographed football, hat, coffee mug, and a bunch of other misc trinkets with a nice letter. A random day, just a celebration of getting past an illness, but if I had the chance to live one day again, that would be the one I'd choose. :)
(Oh, and I took my wife to Paris later)

I would agree with all the kids posts. And add my wedding day. The thread title also made me think of the Lowes commercials: "this is gonna be the best day of our lives."
Meeting my wife. First gun I bought.

Right now, at my age, every day above ground is the best day. Previous best days were in no particular order:
Christmas day 1968, received a Remington 581 which I still have.
Today in 1964 I rode my first "real" motorcycle.
June 11, 1988 and the birth of my daughter.
August 7, 1999 I married the mother of my daughter.
Getting the amniocentesis results that the earlier tests indicating Downs Symptoms for Mt second son were totally wrong. The previous week was the worst week of my life.
^^^I went through this as well with my second daughter. The docs here on the west slope gave us a 95% chance of her having Downs, so we went over to Denver and had the amniocentesis done (which is scary itself), and the doc that performed the test asked why we were there, this child is 100% normal. We had stayed at a B&B the night before, and niether of us slept at all. Terrified all night.
But now she just graduated pre school a few days ago, and is headed to the "big kid's school". She talks so much, I keep looking for the "off" button......why? whats that? why? where we going? can I have a snack? are we there yet? my sister is touching me. blah blah blah jesus, shaddup!! Two daughters that are 5 and 6 1/2 are a handfull, but I love 'em to death. And I pity the first little bastard that shows up to take them out on a date......he's gonna learn the meaning of life and how fragile it is in damn short order! Boys, you only have one pecker to worry about, girls you have to worry about them all.
Whoever came up with the DVD players that install on the back of the headrests of cars should never, EVER need to worry about anything (money, women, etc. he should get it all).
There's nothing better than to be handed your first child for the first time. At that very moment, EVERYTHING changes.

Nothing compares to the birth of my son. There have been plenty of good days but possessions and other experiences will never stack up to that day.
Everything has been downhill since this.

I live everyday... and there are better days than some... hard for me to judge a best day when I keep laughing and smiling at the worst of days.
Dang... that sounded pretty deep, but I can't give you a definite answer to your question... sorry... [Coffee]
.. but I can say this.... just live [Beer]
