i ordered a del-ton 16" car kit today for my dpms lower. the kit was only $485 shipped. i have a couple of questions. i have had read reviews on del-ton and they were good.
1. has any one had any experience with del-ton?
2. i didnt order the m4 feed ramps for $25. its not to late the delivery time is 8-16 weeks. but what is your experience with m4 feed ramps and uppers without feed ramps?
i had a dpms classic 16" and do not remember if they had m4 feed ramps. any help would be great. thanks
Del-Ton good, feed ramps no feed ramps no biggy semi auto
I have 2 of them. super accurate...ask the 4 prairie dogs I got with 4 shots of my reloads at 250 yards[Coffee]
Very good quality. you won't be dissappointed and they have about the best customer service of anybody out there.

Was gonna say, they are one of the best companies you can deal with...AND you wont get gouged regardless of what other companies are doing. Some of the best BEST prices for uppers and lowers as well as kits. Here is a pic of my delton upper kit with a spikes tactical lower.

Like others stated... Del-Ton.. good stuff... Great guys.
M4 feed ramps are designed to improve reliable feeding in full auto operation... not necessary in semi-auto rifle. Some of the "Mil-Spec" only guys have to have them because anything not "Mil-Spec" is junk. But don't believe the hype.

Quick couple general questions (not necessarily related to del-ton):
I noticed the rifle in the previous pic, the handguards look really short, is that a CAR kit or M4 kit (i thought the gas block on CAR's were longer than M4's)?
Secondly, does a "standard A2 front sight" interfere with potential optics? Again, after looking at the previous pic, it would appear that is an OK option, or would a flip up be better?
Thanks in advance,
Tim

its an m4 in the pic.....as for the site..they are in the sight picture but do not bother me...if you thought they might bother you, you might be better paying the little bit extra for the flip up front site

I've also heard that del-ton makes quality kits. I've got one friend that has put one together using del-ton and has been happy.
I've got no personal experience with them.
I 've ordered a Del-Ton kit that I plan to mate with a R Guns lower. It's sort of a "how low can you go" build. I'll post a range report when I get it together, but I can say that I have no complaints about Del-Ton, other than their 16-week backorder, but that's not really their fault.
I've built several del-ton kits and all of them have been great. excellent prices. very good product, and good customer service. right now they are backordered for...well forever.

I buddy just got his Del-Ton complete upper 3 weeks ago. He ordered it in November...
Worked great right out of the box though!

Like previously stated, the wait for Del Ton is not their fault. I ordered a rifle kit in December and still waiting. I finally called to see if I had ordered something wrong in the kit and was pleased with the attitude of the gentleman I talked to. He was apologetic that it took so long and stated the 20" barrel that I ordered took longer. Mark

I have one on order... and they are, as Sniper said, backordered forever.
It's been almost 8 months. But, I've heard nothing bad about them, and they've been great to deal with in the past.
I'll wait and let you know how it turns out.

oh ya... marcopolo... you might be getting yours soon!
I talked to them about a week ago, and they said they had rifle length barrels in stock. But my mid wasn't.

I'm getting ready to order mine and I'm getting the Rock River 2 Stage trigger. I've been told it's worth the extra $80. The guy at Del-Ton recommended the Free Float tube also, for accuracy. I want to know if the accuracy will be noticeable, or should I save the money and get a couple of mags instead?

if accuracy is important enough to you then yes, get the free float. although im not sure the difference it makes on a 16 inch, but for 18 and 20 inch, definitely

what is your experience with m4 feed ramps and uppers without feed ramps?
If you have a lower with M-4 feed ramps the upper MUST have them as well. You don't need them if you have a semi-auto.

???
M4 ramps on the lower?
Are you sure you dont mean, If your upper has M4 feed ramps then your barrel extension must have them.
