I saw a package deal on Buds that seemed like a inexpensive way to shoot some longer ranges than my AR-15. I am attracted to the .308 due to its popularity. I don't expect to shoot beyond 500 yards and that maybe a stretch. I was curious if anyone had shot one of these Howa Targetmaster?

I never shot one but that sure seems like one hell of a package, gun/scope and tripod.

In general I have found that people's reviews of the Howa 1500 (the platform that this is based on) has a better trigger out of the box than the Rem 700 and has a smooth action. It does not have as many aftermarket companies that support it compared to the 700.It does appear that it comes as a partial kit. The optics, mag kit, and bipod are not installed, so the original metal components for the trigger guard and internal mag can be saved if you dont like the ten round mag add on.

I ordered the Howa today! Does anyone know the closest 300 yard public range to Littleton? I was thinking about trying out the Cheyenne Mountain Shooting Complex, but it is about an hours drive.
