Anyone ever been to the shows in Cheyenne or Laramie? What are they like?
Since private sales will be "illegal" soon, I'd like to check out the shows in a state with the gun show loophole.

The cheyo show when it was off 80 & central was decent..
HAHAHA. Out of state buyer GFL. You still do a BG check. ESPECIALLY with a greenie plate.

Aren't the shows a mix of dealers and private sellers?
Private sellers aren't going to do a BG check, are they?
For out of state people they had better.

SERIOUSLY You a new gun owner??? [facepalm]
With cheyo just down the road, if you think the Cheyenne ATF bureau is not going to be there. Along with 1 or 2 undercover LE's, i suggest you have an attorney in wyo on speed dial. One that specializes in Federal Charges.
R2Chief2, you can't do a private sale across state lines without going through an FFL.
That includes for long guns right?

That includes for long guns right?yes , unless its really old or they are a family member . i have bought guns in other states at shows and they always call in the old 4473 . also you can not walk out with a pistol , it gets sent to an ffl in your home state .

Can't be any more rediculous than Colorado. May give the Laramie show a try in July.
If you come up here to buy.... give me a holler BEFORE you get arrested, so we can grab a pint. A DUI charge might be better than a gun smuggling charge :D

Yes, relatively new. That's why I asked.
Never done a private purchase...
Looks like I won't be doing one after July 1
You can still do a private sale. Just need to do the commie background check with free full cavity search. If you become a convicted felon, you won't have guns again.

You cannot just do a private sale with no background check with a member of a different state unfortunately. You should read up on federal and state laws before doing anything.
Not 100% on-topic for OP, but the show in Gillette is supposed to be very good. A dealer friend from Holyoke goes up there every year, and said it is one of his favorite shows to attend.
Not as close as Chey or Laramie, but...

BUT WHAT IF I go to Wyoming and buy a gun but its from another Colorado resident - is Wyoming kind of like Switzerland at this point? Can we get away with it?
(Just kidding, I just want to see how Jim reacts)

DOH!!! I get it.
Got your message. I'll call on break.

Holler, just got back from the Laramie gun show at the fairgrounds. People friendly, no stress, good selection and decent prices. Recommend everyone give it a try.
