Is it on at least a 15 amp breaker?

Yes it is a 15 amp breaker, and I am replacing wire where I can.

The entire house was built in the 40's with only 2 circuit breakers for the entire house. A new panel was added at some point to separate things.

This is a portion of its current configuration behind lath and plaster walls.

I intend to modernize how everything is routed and separated to different circuits, but I need to verify the current configuration and I believe this is accurate.

So essentially I am asking is this makes electrical sense as it is drawn. I believe this is correct.

I have replaced some of the wire accessible in the attic with 12/3 wiring.

Yep, as Long as You make it look like the drawing.. Make the connections tight and don't put a staple through the cable,, You should be fine....

Go to Home Depot or one of the other building supply stores and pick up a copy of the Electrical Code. They're cheap and they have diagrams.
