Today, I went to Mile High Shooting Accessories and put the money down and filled the paper work out for my first suppressor. The guys atMile High were top notch in answering my questions and getting the paper work filled out. So I guess I should just forget about it until Christmas, right?

Does anyone have an idea of how long it is taking the BATFE to cash in my check?

Your check will be cashed soon. Make sure it's good NOW! Also, cashing the check has nothing to do with your projected wait time.

My checks have always cashed within a week or so. It goes pending after about a month. My last 4 stamps took 7.5 mo.

I'm stating to worry, my paper work was sent out 05-31-13. My check still hasn't been cashed. Should I be worried??
Not yet give it another couple weeks.
It seems its taking longer for the checks to be deposited everything is just slow right now I think mine took two-three weeks before I saw it clear last feb! A year ago on my other suppressor took a week. I say give It a good 6 weeks than give a call to check if it went pending. Than try and forget about it for the next 6-8 months.
depending on the class lll dealer you picked if you lucky they will let you play with it at there range when they are present or rifle matches they attend in my cause my dealer calls me to go shooting and bribes me by bring it, among other nfa toys.

Just try to forget about it.... pastries are your friends... they have those awesome apple pie stuff at Whole foods [Coffee]
6-8 weeks on cashing checks and 8-9 months on form 4's is the norm now and getting longer .

The ATF cashed the check on 07-09-2013. So at least I know they have my paper work. This waiting deal is getting old fast. I guess if I want to get any other items I better try and plan a year in advance. Thanks everyone for talking me through this process. I'll keep updating, and waiting.
Wait two months (9-9-2013) and call to make sure it's gone pending. Don't call for 2 months at least.

I've been thinking of getting an AR-15 lower registered to be a SBR. Seeing how long the wait is, I'm thinking sooner maybe better then waiting to get paper work rolling.
My SBR Form 1 was sent in Jan 11th. My prediction for stamp arrival: Late August.
Waiting doesn't help. The clock starts only when you send in the form.

There's lots of chatter here and elsewhere regarding the 6-7 month + wait time. I doubt it will be less than 7 months minimum. Form 3 transfers are now 60-90 + days. My suggestion buy an in stock item. Buying from out of state or having to order in a specific item will run 12 months easy.

I’m betting the Government shutdown is going to extend mywait. So much for a Christmas gift to myself, hopefully not much longer afterthe New Year I’ll have it in hand.
They are still cashing the checks though. Mine was cashed on Monday.

I ordered an in stock Spectre from Silenced America on June 1, the form 3 still hasn't gone through, or Silenced America didn't send it as soon I thought.

4-6 month Form 3 delay is the norm, up from 90 days. depending. Average wait time for approval is 11 months, for new filing. Myself by the time i get the last 3 approved, the 2 newest ones, i'll probably be celebrating my 59th or 60th bday, in some hell hole of a strip club. Nitrile anyone?
If someone has one in queue, and they submit 2 more, that should bump you up the list. Haha I wish!

Jeeze. I just put a deposit down on a can last week. Dealer has to get it from his distributor. Said it's normally a month. According to what Jim said, I might be screwed if the process changes.
Just sent a few off. Expecting to get them by christmas...2014

Patience , sooner or later good things come to those who wait, a very long time.
F3's use to be done within weeks, now it's anyone's guess.

I found a firearms dealer to track me down a Colt 6933. Soas soon as it gets to him, I’ll be filling out some paperwork for my first sbr.I figured I have always wanted a Colt and I wanted a sbr, so the 6933 fits thebill quite nicely. I can’t wait to get it out on the range, too bad that islike a year out. (sigh) Waiting really is the hardest part.

Submit it on eforms and you may hit the lottery and have it by spring.

You think e-forms are quicker? Sooner would be better. I'm still waiting on my original purchase and now I'm adding more.

Some are getting them back in 3 months some aren't. The ATF keeps saying it's a test for the eforms but there are now 2 examiners working on them so maybe it's not a test. Like everything else only time will tell but most are going pending 3-4 days after receipt so to me that is cutting off about 2-3 months of the wait time.

I got the call from Mile High Shooting yesterday that my stamp is in. So today I’ll be going to pick up my first suppressor. I can’t wait. Any do’s and do not’s or suppressors for dummies tips for a first timer?
The timeline went like this 05-31-2013 paper work sent out, 07-09-2013 check cashed, tax stamp arrived 04-16-2014. I can’t wait to take a trip to the range.

I can’t wait to take a trip to the range. It'll be the same as before only quieter.

If you can disassemble it, do so and assure there's no tailings or any other foreign matter inside the suppressor.
If it's a screw-on, it should suddenly stop when you screw it on, not bind up. The former means that the suppressor is sitting tight against the shoulder milled into the barrel (which aligns the suppressor accurately with the bore). The latter means that the threads (typically on the barrel) aren't cut in a way that allows the suppressor to sit against the shoulder which can leave the suppressor canted in relationship to the bore (bad news).
After mounting the suppressor, if possible, you should sight down the barrel form the breech end and visually assure that the suppressor is aligned with the bore. Rotate the barrel as you sight down to look at it from all angles. Any wobble or anomaly is a bad sign.
If it's a screw on, often during your range time assure that the suppressor is still screwed on tightly -- they have a tendency to back off sometimes.
Enjoy!

Wear hearing protection until you have determined by your own personal experience if the sound level is safe. This is true both when you shoot it and when you stand near someone else shooting it. Remember that different ammunition loads can have significantly different sound levels.
Suppressors can get FREAKING HOT!! Be careful when touching it after you shoot it.
Don't forget to have fun.
