I ordered a couple of Magpul's fixed carbine stocks for my "just in case" rifles that I'm building. The rifles are nothing special, PSA blemished lowers, standard LPK, etc. Like I said, they're just in case. Just in case what, you might ask? Who knows.
Anyways, have any of you guys tried these out yet? The LOP sounds about where I would put a collapsible stock anyways, and from what I've read they feel a little more solid than a collapsible.

Shot an AR with one last week, only put about 200rnds through but it was comfortable. I don't know that I'd put one on mine but its decent. If you're looking for a solid collapsible Id check Magpuls CTR stock. Ive got it on mine and the locking mechanism makes for a very solid stock....for a collapsible.
Considering this fixed Carbine stock is shorter and lighter than the MOE Rifle stock and about $20 cheaper makes it good for a "just in case" cheap build; However, it is only $10 cheap than a MOE stock, and $25 than a CTR and as Firefighter said the CTR is super lightweight and with the friction lock is excellent at feeling solid.
Also why does this not use the extended butt pad and accessories as their CTR/MOE series though, instead of the PRS stuff?
I can think of only one real reason to get this; You live in a horrible state where Collapsible Stocks are illegal, so instead of "Pinning" on a stock this would give you the same effect but cheaper.
For a cheap build though this might be interesting, I think they look ugly though, the MOE Rifle stock is sexy for a fixed.

Thanks for the input guys. I have a CTR on one of my rifles, and I like it. But I can get two of these for the price of one CTR. The price was the big selling selling factor. I'll post up my thoughts and some pics once the stocks get delivered.
Skully, I'm the exact opposite. I think this stock looks cool, and the fixed rifle stock is ugly as sin. Whatever floats your boat [Beer]
I think I like the ability to adjust my length of pull.... Just in case. [Awesom]

CTRs I have found on average for $75 with free shipping like from ROGTAC.
It all depends on what the purpose is of the build and what you need it for, I like having adjustability of the LOP. I would be interested in seeing this in person.

Well hopefuly WATER is floating my boat. [Coffee]
I think the simplicity and clean looks of the MOE rifle stock is what wins it for me. The fixed Carbine stock just has some weird lines, I have yet to see in person so get one and write a review. :)

Hm, I got my two FCS's for under $80 (.mil discount) from DSG Arms. Hopefully they hurry up and ship these so I can see if they're any good!

They were waiting for me when I got home!!!
What's in the box: Stock, standard end cap, ASAP-compatible end cap, hardware, instructions, Magpul sticker, Magpul poster, and a warning card that explains that there are milspec and commercial buffer tubes (not pictured):

Installation is easy. Chose your end cap, put it on the stock, slide the stock on the receiver extension, and install the screw. Be sure not to over-tighten.

I haven't shot it yet, but the length is just about right for me (I'm 5'8") and it feels really solid. I'll update after I shoot it.
Sorry there are so many pictures, Skully [Coffee]

Wow, your as short as I am? [Coffee]
I have a UBR on my main AR and love it but found I only adjust it out 1 click or collapsed forward, which feels better ergonomically.
"Pictures good, see better, Yes." Yoda
Hmmm, I like the solid version end cap over the ASAP one, looks like it flows with the rifle better.
So length wise it is somewhere in between the lengths of adjustability of a CTR/MOE, but shorter than the MOE RIFLE/A1 stock?
For a SHTF/camping build this would be lightweight, cheap and solid!
Why we have so many choices in parts and configurations, hard to pick just one.
Thanks for the preview of one actually in hand! Update when you go bang some lead down range!

Here's another comparison. CTR on the bottom, UBR in the middle, FCS in the foreground.
Too short:

I have my UBR set at preset 3.

You still have these on your just in case builds?
Still like it?
I am thinking of one for a super cheap just in case build.

For a fixed I still like the ace. One can get them in the length you need and tune it with the pad. I know, its just not plastic.[Flower]

First, Jerry, your avatar is kinda freaky with the licking kitty cat. Just wanted to point that out. https://www.ar-15.co/images/smilies/anim_coffee.gif
ACE stocks are nice, but almost twice the price of the MAGPUL fixed carbine stock even if you include the price of the buffer tube.

Window licking cat. Just for the Holidays. [LOL]I think I have $75 into mine. I like the nice soft foam on the ace. That way I have a place to take a nap on the range as ya know how us old guys are. [Flower]
The ACE stock pricing confuses me. If you want the big, long one.... It's like $69. The shorter one is around $110.

I will admit it is strange but the long one (A1 length) uses the rifle buffer tube. Shorter than the A2 but not as short as the carbine tube. The long stock can be shortened to the point that one can use (and need) the carbine buffer. Most that are at least 5'6" are comfortable with the std stock.
It may look long but it is not.[Flower]
