So I just got a 9 mm conversion barrel for a Glock 22. Now I already had a lone wolf Glock 17 barrel. Will my glock 17 barrel shoot just fine in my Glovk 22( not the conversion barrel). Visually I can't see a difference, I think I will take a mic to it and see if there is any difference. I am asking bc I will just sell one off it the Glock 17 barrel can do both task

No.

If I recall, the LWD Glock 17 barrel is a smaller OD than the Glock 22 40-9 barrel. Which makes sense because the hole in the slide for the barrel will be larger for a larger caliber. Otherwise the barrel wall thickness in the Glock 22 would be thinner.

eta: With that said, its possible that a G17 barrel will FIT into a G22, but I'm almost positive that the gap between the barrel and slide at the muzzle end would be larger with this combo.

Also, it would mean that your G17 no longer has a barrel and you'd simply be limiting yourself to only 1 pistol. At least with the 40-9 barrel, you can have two full size 9mm pistols.

Also, for the record, a Glock 17/22 barrel will NOT fit in a Glock 19/23. The locking lugs and other features have subtle differences in measurements.

Ask me how I know [LOL]

I guess I answered my own question..... I surfed youtube and found this great video.

My glock 17 has the stock barrel and I also have a lone wolf in case I loaded lead...... So I will still have two operational firearms.
Thanks for your help.

You are right about that, the difference is .0200 of an inch but if you watch the video the "sloop or play" doesn't kill the accuracy too much.

Sorry, tried watching that video but the wind noise was really starting to piss me off.

What was the take away message from it? And what did you decide to do (for future newbs who might want to search the forums... aw who am I kidding, they don't do that [LOL] )

eta: Page didn't update while I was typing. Thanks, nice to see real world measurements.

Also, I put a LWD 40-9 in my G23 and it works flawlessly even with the standard .40 internals. I got it for $80 or $90, which is around the price that most used Glock factory barrels sell for. I almost went for the black oxide from LWD, but decided that the silver barrel for the conversion barrel is much better and will be much more obvious when I've got the conversion barrel in it.
