I'm torn on this issue. On one hand, the reporter was in the street. On the other hand, I completely understand the mother's reaction.

I get that the mother is upset and doesn't want to talk to reporters, but damn.

There is certainly enough evidence here to charge the mother with assault with a deadly weapon, and this type of case is not unheard of. But the reporter is certainly sensationalizing this as well, she didn't make much of an effort to get away!

Please excuse the goof in the title...I changed my mind halfway through typing and neglected to fix it. D'OH!

Reporter in a skirt and heels isn't thinking that she'll be doing a 100 yard dash after telling a woman that the man who shot her daughter is arrested/turned in. I would be a bit confused/shock too.

Sad sad world.

oh yea...just to make this thread exciting....nice dogs: "bread of peace"

Exactly! The women wanted to be left alone and didn't care to answer any question. The reporter kept on coming back to harras the woman. The reporter deserves what she gets. Case closed. [Coffee]

Can't blame the dogs at all for this ...

they were doing what they were told ... which is exactly what a dog should do.

Dogs are only dangerous when they attack uncommanded.

THIS!
Whatever happened to just politely asking "Please leave me alone"? Crazy bitch deserves to have charges pressed against her. I have no idea why anyone would side with the mother, the reporter did nothing wrong.

I'm surprised by the folks saying it is OK to attack the reporters....

Public street.... no violence warranted..

hell I would argue that when she commanded the dogs to attack that deadly force would have been justified against the dogs at that point.

So those saying it's ok on the reporter ...

your cool with being attacked on a public street for asking questions ?

I would be more interested in seeing the unedited tape. The news media is BS, especially when they can make themselves the story.

That is exactly right. That is why i do not give any credit nor sympathy to the media crew. I wouldn't be surprised if they had been camped out there harassing those people beforehand.

Yup, she's a crazy bitch. Good thing she doesn't have a good arm. Dogs seemed pretty friendly considering the command. On another note, nobody found the rock throwing and then the prance run as funny as I did. I'll watch this again just to smile a little bit.

Fail all the way around.
The reporter should have left the lady alone after it was made clear she had no interest in speaking with the reporter.
The lady had no right/reason to sic the dogs on the dumass reporter.
The reporter has no clue how to deal with a hostile dog. Hint-you don't run!

Couldn't care less that some scumbag, leech reporter was responded to like this. Too bad mama didn't have a better arm on her.

Like Riggs said in one of the lethal weapon films: "Don't run. He will only chase you down and kill you."

But either way, even if the reporter did overstay her welcome and linger longer than she should have, is that legitimate grounds to assault her or send your dogs after her? Methinks not.

We don't know what's on the unedited tape. All sorts of examples of how the media have turned situations around 180 degrees (or in some cases, 540 degrees) by judicious editing.

Would bet there is more to the story, still not grounds to send the dogs.

Turn tables on reporters. Go in the house, if they persist on harassing you, call police complaining of trespass and harassment.

Lots of stupid to go around in that video.

Agreed. A reporter's job is to, well, report. Part of that involves asking questions. If the woman didn't want to be questioned, refuse to answer, don't go throwing rocks, pulling a baseball bat, and sicing dogs on them. Quite frankly, I think the woman's lucky the reporters didn't CC and decrease the world dog population by two.

I'm not really sure what a 'bread of peace' would be other than an ill attempt at spelling breed properly. I give you a 1 out of 10 for attempting to be a dick. The effort was attempted, but far overshadowed by stupid.

As far as the ladies reaction.. It's more than understandable. Dead daughter.. microphone/camera being shoved in your face uninvited. I'm sure a lot of people would have that reaction. I certainly don't think the dogs were attacking. They can take down boars, a blonde chunky reporter wouldn't be an issue. Her camera man certainly did his job of filming it AND not attempting to help.. Way to be a man.

I'm still confused on how a reporter, who is delivering GOOD news, should be assaulted and is a "scumbag, leech."

If someone, even a reporter came up and told me that the person who shot a member of my family had turned himself into the police, I would be ecstatic and asking, who, what, when, where, why.

I will go with the assumption that there is something missing in this story which caused the hostile reaction to what I would consider "good news." Such as the shooter is known to that family. I will still go with, "no comment" and walk into my house would have been a better course of action.

The interviewee seemed calm at first. Then, after a couple of edits to the tape, seemed to snap. Wonder how much time elapsed during those edits, and what questions were being asked by prancer. Found it humorous myself.

Can we add this to the long line of reasons to carry concealed?

It's a sad world indeed, and dirt bags like the mother don't help. Hey lady, go inside and close your damn door. They can film from the street if they want... but going full retard on TV never helps your cause.

Love the ending though, "...ya dumb white bitch...."

As much as I hate the media, I am a huge advocate for Free Speech and the first Amendment. The media reporter was exercising her right to freely "report".

How would you guys like it if you were exercising your right to open carry and someone had their dogs attack you and started throwing rocks at you just for exercising your rights?

Sometime you have to take the good with the bad with all our rights. Its called freedom.

...But I still do feel for the mother.

My first response was cheering the lady and her dogs. The bottom feeder was asked to leave. She should have. This is a common tactic for reporters use to get a "good" story.

I'd bet there is a lot more footage then what we are seeing.

And if the roles were reversed and it was a white lady calling a black reporter a "dumb black bitch" it would have become another (double standard) issue. She would have been called a racist and would have been charged with a hate crime for sending the dogs. That's what would have made the local headlines...

Nothing the reporter(s) did (at least judging by the video) warranted that type of behavior from that psycho bitch. Nothing.

Except for being reporters in the first place.

Sorry, but over the years I've known many reporters and worse many TV news camera men and they are truly the most reprehensible and sanctimonious parasites on the planet. They think the primary purpose of the 1st Amendment is to be able to shove a camera into the face of person going through the worst time of their life and demand they answer their questions.

I agree this lady went a little too far (and probably should be visited by the popo) but often these "journalist" types are like Labradors ... they're thick headed and you really have to smack them hard for them to take the hint that they shouldn't be doing what they're doing.

Whatever happened to just politely asking "Please leave me alone"? ... I have no idea why anyone would side with the mother, the reporter did nothing wrong.

Again I base this solely on my experience with TV news people and there is always a chance that this is the one in ten thousand case where they TV news people did absolutely nothing wrong, but I'd be willing to bet good money that if you watched the entire unedited tape that you'd see these two obnoxious reprobates harass this woman until she hit the breaking point ... I'd bet that you'd see her ask multiple times for them to "please leave me alone".

Maybe I'm a little jaded and biased and I'm perfectly willing to admit that I could be completely wrong in this case, but I doubt it.

Edited to add: Just to clarify, I'm not defending the mother here ... throwing rocks at people is a crime and she should probably be cited for assault ... I just don't buy the video that paints the "journalists" as 100% innocent victims here.

I'm not really sure why this is a news story.
I'm not condoning ANY behaviour, but something obviously negative happened to a person and the news wants to see the reaction?
What do you think the reaction is going to be? This is news....why?

Go ahead and throw rocks and threaten news people... let's see how that works out for ya. [Shake]

I'm not saying the news woman was 100% in the right or innocent, but even if pushed to your breaking point, it is never justified to assault someone (with a rock, bat or dog) when they are not causing you harm or putting you in immediate danger of life or bodily harm. So while I don't think the news person is perfectly without fault, the woman's handling of the situation is deplorable and her racism should be made an issue as well.

he didn't say he was going to do it. it'll be interesting to see your reaction next time we have a video of a cop attacking someone not "causing harm or putting them in immediate danger." Notice there's no "if" in that statement, because even you, Ronin, know that's going to happen.

She's like Rhonda Fields.

No, wait, stay with me on this for a minute.

She suffered something that's just terrible for a parent. I can only imagine how I'd react if my children were attacked like that, even if they were okay when all was said and done.

None of which excuses her behavior. Just like losing Juvon doesn't excuse Fields coming after the rest of us.

Gotta love the way the camera man was more interested in a good film for the 5:00 news rather than help the reporter. Looks a lot like they were trying to make a story. But the woman had no right to sic her dogs on the reprter. The whole thing is just a bunch of BS.
