Find out what Jerry Miculek is shooting and there's your answer. ;)

BTW, he primarily uses a S&W 625 in .45 ACP.

Now that we know what your game is/will be....

IDPA has two revolver divisions. Stock Service Revo and Enhanced Service Revo.

Most of the guys are using Smith and Wesson revos. Every once in a blue moon and Ruger will show up, but not often. Kydex belt holsters by COM, CenDex, Ready Tactical and others are the norm.

SSR is pretty much a game of Smith 686's in 38 Special loaded with a 125 gn bullet at just over 1,000 fps. Speedloaders are also the norm as moonclips are not allowed in SSR.

ESR is ruled by the Smith 625 in 45 ACP. Watered down ammo is not allowed as the ammo power floor is a 230 gn bullet doing at or over 718 fps. Moon clips are allowed. However any caliber can be used as long as it meets the ammo power requirement.

Both divisions cant be shot with a barrel longer than 4 inches.
