My sons are leaving for the summer next week to visit their mother so I'm gonna take them fishing tomorow. We used to go to Chattfield or Clear lake when we lived in littleton but now that I'm in Castle Rock I need some help to find a good spot. lookin for trout, Any help?

rabbits... Wasn't any p-dogs seen when the family and I hiked it couple of afternoons ago. Lots of stupid rabbits though.
Palmer Lake, when it's actually a lake. I don't believe it is this year - I think it's Palmer Dustbowl.

Maybe a drive, but I took my boy over to the arsenal a few weeks ago, we caught some pretty big pike and if I remember right they stock trout too. It is catch and release and they make you take a class about unexploded ordnance but we had a pretty good time.

Thanks guys, I hope your wrong dingo because thats where I am planning to go. Maybe some more looking is in order. JMBD that sounds fun but we want to eat em.
@ JMBD2112 Lol... that sounds kinda like those medication disclaimers on the commercials these days...

Stevel....
Take a look at the Palmer Lake watershed reservoir. It's about a 20-30 min hike up from the trailhead, and usually has year-round water, and fish. Might be a better prospect if Palmer Lake is dry...

Funny because I showed my military ID to the guy at the gate and he was going to let me go, but since my kid was with me, he made us take the class. Mind you my son is almost 3.

man totally dry eh, that sucks. that and chattfield are about the only places an hour away from castle rock. Not certain what we will do. We could try hiking up to the reservoir but not sure the old lady will be up to it (at least not without a bunch of bitching and moaning)
