View Full Version : Bush is looking better and better

Ohole must really be putting his foot in it. I know history views with rose colored glasses sometimes, but a lot of people really hated Bush.
I did too, but I still prefer him vastly to the Mooselimb we have now...

People told you to hate Bush.
I remember hearing the left saying you should hate Bush because they did. I had no problem with him.
See what you got now people?

No, 9-11, WTC 7, Iraq, The Patriot Act, wiretapping, massive education cuts to finance Iraq, Dick Cheney, Karl Rove, record breaking profits for his oil industry buddies at a time when we're all paying >$4.70 per gallon and being told it's all supply-based, and that shit eating grin every time he told us to "stay the course", told me to hate Bush.
Bush was Obama : the Beta Test. Just not as smart. That was the Cheney/Rove/Rice presidency... an ugly, overbearing hydra oligarchy with a puppet just barely smart enough to be dangerous. Ohole is just carrying on what Bush started.
The only thing Bush had going for him was not elevating gay rights to the level of worship, and not overtly attacking our 2A rights. He just left that to his successor.

As soon as you blamed Bush for 9-11 I said screw you.
Sorry but your a fool if you think he was anything like we have now.
keep wasting time hating Bush. The old Liberal "Blame Bush" is still working on you to make you forget what Obama is doing.
Im not coming back to this topic.
Well, I'll go ahead and reply since human nature dictates that you will check back in and read, even if you don't reply. :-)
Not liking Bush doesn't make me a liberal, it just makes me not a Republican. :-)
But good effort.
Wait, are you blaming Bush for 9/11, or referring to something else related to 9/11?
Not directly blaming him for it in the sense that he orchestrated it. But he damn sure used it to the detriment of the American people. And there's no way anyone can convince me that at least one member if not more of his cabinet didn't know about it, and didn't allow it to happen. It was way too beneficial for way too many people, and too much about it has been covered up. Did Bin Laden actually perpetrate it? Sure. Was it the best thing that could have happened to Bush politically, and the agenda he served? Yes.

I always get sort of a kick out of bashing Bush for being so dumb and yet somehow smart enough to know about (or in some cases masterminding!) 9-11.
Which is it?
OTOH, Obama is the smartest president in history. Just ask him.
He has no idea what is going on with Benghazi, the NSA, fast and furious, the IRS targeting, or how to make jobs, but my God he is smart!

I don't get that either how President Bush could be a moron and beat algore and john fukken kerry in consecutive elections.
I'm no fan of President Bush but he inherited problems that stem back to his father and Klinton allowed these problems to build. President Bush just happened to be the man when these problems finally bloomed.
President Bush is most certainly a better human, a better man, and a better president that the whores fuckstain that currently occupies the seat.

What massive education cuts? They spent more on education every damned year -- and I defy you to find me a place in the Constitution that authorizes federal expenditures or involvement in education.
Better check your memory -- gas was never $4.70/gal under Bush except maybe in CA -- it was about $2.80/gal on Jan 20, 2009. Federal gas taxes constituted a larger portion of what you paid at the pump than oil industry profits -- about double if memory serves me right.
As TEAMRICO stated, you hated Bush because you were told to hate Bush and you demonstrate it in the ignorance behind the litany of reasons you hated Bush. I was no fan, still am not, but I also pay no attention to the foil hat garbage spewed by the liberals or self-proclaimed libertarians. I'm sorry to see Rand Paul going down the same crazy path as his father, he seemed a tad more reasonable and balanced until recently.
I never liked Dubya, but I'm under no illusions that he was stupid. You don't graduate from Harvard AND Yale with a room temperature IQ. The blame for 9/11(not the act, but the intel failures) can be laid at the feet of one William Jefferson Clinton; he's the one that gutted the CIA's on-the-ground operations in favor of relying on remote surveillance and electronic data gathering. Regardless, Oblowme will go down as the worst (and potentially last)president in history.
9-11, WTC 7
I lost a little respect for you just for bringing this up in correlation to GW. I guess people just can't listen to experts in engineering, firefighting and construction... I am so goddamn sick of people spouting this AJ/Loose Change shit about WTC 7... go read the Debunking 9/11 stuff out there, from people who actually know what they're talking about.
Anyway, I digress. Did Bush mishandle 9/11's aftermath? Maybe a little (see: Patriot Act), but his response (see: Afghanistan) was appropriate. Was Bush the worst president ever? Hardly. Was he responsible for the 2008 economic collapse? Not entirely (see: Clinton admin, Fannie and Freddie). If he were running again today and I had to choose between he and Obama, I'd vote for Bush, again.

THIS! Clinton had OBL in his sights back in the late 1990's... he could have really gone after him and potentially prevented all this... but then again, he also could have prevented Rwanda, the 2008 housing collapse, and a host of other things, but he was a spineless POS.
I'm no fan of President Bush but he inherited problems that stem back to his father and Klinton allowed these problems to build. President Bush just happened to be the man when these problems finally bloomed.
Agreed. Bush will be seen as a mediocre president in the history books and that really is what he was.

Agree ^^
Well, this obviously has everyone hot under the collars. I'm always happy to debate up until people get emotional and the inevitable ad hominem attacks begin. Not here to convince anybody, just stating my opinion (which incidentally has nothing whatsoever to do with AJ or his ilk. There are more of us 9-11 truthers in the mainstream than most people would like to admit.).
As far as Bush's intelligence - I stated before that I believe it wasn't his presidency to begin with. I think Cheney, Rice, and Rove were all quite intelligent. Regardless of his level of involvement, he was complicit at the very least. Graduated Yale and Harvard? Money always gives a nice boost academically, as do politically-connected family.
But just to clarify I did vote for him twice. I won't argue that he was the lesser of two evils. And a step up from Clinton or Bush Sr. I don't understand economics well enough to place the blame at his door or Clinton's. In my opinion, we haven't had a respectable president since Reagan. Is Ohole worse? Sure. But he wouldn't have the reaching powers he does now with no oversight, without Bush's legacy. In my book, they're different sides of the same coin.

The problem with 9-11 Truthers is the same problem I was trying to illustrate with your statement: when the thesis conflicts with facts, you stick with the thesis.
Case in point was the $4.70/gal gas you stated. This chart is courtesy of the San Jose Mercury News:
http://extras.mnginteractive.com/live/media/site568/2012/0914/20120914_020831_gasprez.jpg (http://www.ar-15.co/portlet/article/html/imageDisplay.jsp?contentItemRelationshipId=4655854 )
Of course they were trying to say Obama's gas prices are no worse than Bush's but even their figures don't show gas ever breaking $4/gal under Bush.
As far as the charge about "massive education cuts" goes, Bush spent 16.5% of his budget on Education vs. 17.3% under Clinton but that was on a budget that ranged from $3.2-5T per year versus $2.5-3.1T so as I said, overall expenditures INCREASED.
You have the right to your opinion, I simply request it be based on facts rather than liberal propaganda or foil hat fantasies.

Let's see... George Bush:
Received undergrad/graduate degrees from Ivy League schools
Was a pilot of one of the most complicated (to fly) fighter aircraft of the time
Ran large corporations
Co-Owned a MLB team
Was elected governor of TX
Was elected as President twice
Yeah...what a dumbass. [/sarcasm]
Sorry, Dingo...you've crossed the line from ignorance to stupidity when you start calling someone with that kind of resume stupid or an idiot (regardless of who his daddy is). Furthermore, if you're a "truther" you've lost ALL credibility in my eyes. There's plenty of things NOT to like about George Bush without fabricating or regurgitating a bunch of mindless bullshit.
I'm with Jim on this one.
This entire discussion will only go in one direction from here...and it ain't a good one.
We are planning out year budgets at my agency. Really has me hoping for something better. Focusing on which asshole to blame for the mess we are as a country doesn't help the work we all have to do for the future to get back on top.
