Fun fun, now almost 400/month to insure a mid 30's female. No health issues aside from a genetic piece that has been found, but never caused ANY issue, symptom or otherwise. However since the genetic piece was found, cannot get any insurance except the new obozo care. That whole "make it affordable" has TRIPLED in the few years since starting. At this point its either burn about 4500/yr, or drop it, hope they dont get cancer, and deal with a payment structure with a hospital should something happen.

Looking for any ideas, realistic ones.

If you do go with the insurance, don't trust that you won't still be needing a payment plan when the ins co wiggles out of paying for 90% of the bill.

1) Renounce citizenship. 2) Cross border into Mexico.
3) Wait a few days and cross back into country illegally.
4) Wait a few weeks for DC leadership to make you legal and screw the rest of country.
5) Free Heathcare.

Realistically? Go to Wal-mart, stock up on KY. You're gonna get screwed, it's up to you to decide your level of comfort.

More like a joke actually. Thats a discount program not insurance, been there, done that. They literally deny everything, but suddenly cover when you call in and argue. Idiots.

If you can find a doc to take it.

I had it for like 5 years, it was Humana and then pacificare, not medicare, never had an issue.

and it was way cheaper than the rest of the plans

typical 80/20 but high deductible, but that's how all individual/small company plans are.

never had an issue, either me or the wife. Worked as well as any health insurance does (which is to say not well, but they all "fuck you in the drive thru")
Even made my deductible every year for the wife (not me, I'm the healthy one)

I'm in my 40's and the last one (last year) was $415, and women's is always higher.

Wow, that's expensive! Is this through your work, or hers? Or are you self-employed?

The only thing I can think of is Aflac, and meanwhile continue to shop around.
